  • My sister, she's in 1st grade, knows who Alexander the Great is just because of home school. Public school is terrible really.
My neighbor, he's 15 and home schooled too, we're working on the same math book. I'm actually way ahead of him because he lost his book for most of the year. Why are you learning things late?
I was in the advanced class in 6th grade, so we did a little Pre-Algebra, then I did some stuff after I became home schooled. This year I'm doing Algebra 1, and next year we might have me take an Algebra 2 class at the Home school learning center, where I take oboe.
They also gave us a 90 page packet of pre-algebra that we had to have completed by the end of the year, and we had to have a certain amount of pages completed by certain points. And ya know, we didn't know how to do any of the activities.
I had to help teach the class once, which was pretty embarrassing. We were learning the x-y graphs or whatever they're called, and we'd had a sub for most of the year. And the sub was the teacher's son, so it was kind of weird. And he wasn't very good at teaching.
I need help at the beginning of a new lesson sometimes, but after I learn the basics I can usually get it. At school though we moved so slow you had to be pretty dull not to get it.
I still did pretty good, mostly because my mom would help me with stuff at home and expand on the concept, but I had a fourth grade teacher who would talk about her son most of the time.
They still don't know who did it. Then the school decided to install security cameras. The whole school district is jacked up. Some of the teachers were idiots too, yet the school wondered why we weren't doing well during state testing.
It was just threats, she didn't have a bomb or anything. She still freaked out the staff though. Somebody burned down one of the portable buildings at the elemantry school the year before, when I was still going there.
We had two kids get caught with drugs, so they have to do drug sniffings now or something. I haven't heard of any alcohol in my school though. There was also this one girl who kept writing bomb threats in the girl's bathroom.
....I can't even think of a response to that. I act childish towards those kind of things, mostly becasue they're unappealing to me, and I'd rather not hear about it, much less see it. You certainly had some nasty kids at that school.
Wow, just...wow. I jumped for joy when my parents said I could be home schooled too, they were mostly doing it to help my sister. There were a lot of pervs, and the stuff they said was just...ew.
Wow, some guys are real jerks. Sorry for the late reply, I had to run off to band practice and buy a protractor. The guys at my school were just bullies, they'd locker people and spread gossip and stuff.
