They don't like things like other races, other foods, other reglions. It's hard for them to see others.
I know this because one of my friends is unsettled on her reglion while one of my others won't even look at Harry Potter because she thinks it's associted with the devil.
Needless to say, I don't tell many about my love of pokemon.

I grew up surrounded with really great perents though who (unlike a lot of kids) exposed me to culture 'n stuff. So I got a lot of that sort of thing. Books, art, movies, food. Just my interations with people were limited.
We have basically one ethinic group.
Which makes it hard for some kids to grow up well rounded. *has a lot of really rude people in her class*
