I saw your post in SM120, and I find myself in both agreement and disagreement for a really weird and funny reason.
U see, the moment I saw J, I immidiately begun coming up with countless childhood backstory scenarios. My reason for that was, that I can hardly imagine a child in Pokemon with decent education/well spent childhood to become as cruell as she was. This alone made me like her as a character. Through all this darkness in her, there was just this extremelly vague and potentially dark and interesting childhood that was never explored in depth, probably to make her more threatening, but still.
I do agree that she was too OP tho. Her death scene, however, proves that she is not perfect and is capable of making a mistake that can cost a lot.
I mean, I'd say leaving behind your own henchmen is itself a really dumb idea. You just have to spend more money to get new henchmen that aren't exactly guaranteed to be better than ones you left off.
I also don't really like it that she was given a big airship. I mean, Pokemon hunters should be using something smaller, something which'd just attract less attention, but still would be capable of easilly running away from an army of fire breathing lizards and stuff. It'd also probably be easier to concentrate and give your man concrete tasks if you have smaller group of people rather than bigger. Quality vs quantity.
I actually thought about putting her in our RP somehow, but one of the suggestions on how to do it would require another rewrite/major retcon.
