  • A lot is the usual problems of derivative fan fiction in getting author permission and trying to portray a 'canon' character accurately knowing for certain that their creator will look. And then reading, in-depth, the relevant stories to learn everything there is to know about the battling style of a character.

More that they occupy a tier between the HOLY S*** OP BADASSES (Keith/Criss, Gideon to an extent, Jane) and the rather weak (Eve, Andrea, Alaska, Sai). There just aren't a lot of mid-journey characters right now, which is about the power level yours fall into. Maybe Reggie v. Gela from my own work could work, although I have no idea how much experience Reggie has with dealing with OHKO moves. If it's fairly little... well, she's getting at least one instakill in that match. Probably more. On the other hand, Gela would have zero idea how to deal with Chigon and outside of her Gyarados and OHKO moves she has no real power to work with. So it's stuff like that the series would have to consider.
Maybe. There are a lot of logistical challenges I'll point out tomorrow with it, but it could maybe happen.

Namely a lack of obvious opponents. Kevin is the only really good one who comes to mind for this and, well, there isn't a matchup that's really close for him to fight. Criss would wreck him in a heartbeat. As far as Reggie himself... I don't know. There just aren't many people in his power tier that I've seen. Maybe Alaska. Maybe.
I'm probably going to blog about a "Probably Terrible Idea" tomorrow. Basically, I kind of want to explore how something like a literary version of that would work in the fan fiction forum here, normally for Pokemon battles. Because it is obviously entirely necessary to see Eve v. Andrea, Criss v. Gideon, and Senori v. Geoffry. Those are things that need to happen.

And also Josh and Eve against Sandy and Alaska, just because it needs to tie for the universe to be complete.
    A likely story.

Mine, to be fair, is used primarily as a method of bringing closure to a broader plot thread.

Also, have you seen the Youtube series "Death Battle?"
It's going well, but it'll be tough. And, of course, I'm apply for a research fellowship as a freshman, so we'll see how that goes.

That's called an overextraction; you get a shot of espresso that's bitter and has a burnt taste. That bottomless portafilter has a crazy learning curve!

Perhaps. Rocket scientist, astronaut, professor, attorney. Any will do!

    LEGAL PADS <3

No! I bring weeping and gnashing of teeth!
Well, I managed to rewrite both the prologues of Galactic and 8ES, so that was a fairly major achievement for me.
    - Yeah, hence why I say the framing was unusual.
    - Yes. Hence why I say "again!!"
    - Ah, I see. Otherwise it comes out of left field.
    - On that and related notes, it's kind of why that battle scene was a bit tricky to believe as I forgot to mention. Just as perfect strategy can carry the day, sometimes it's not enough to overcome raw power, experience, Pokemon being able to carry out the orders, etc. And what would those drug-addled full-synchroed minds do if they couldn't keep up with or counter something (properly)? Or if the rampagers faced a monster on their or above their level.
    - More or less.
It's in the wake of the Christmas period. Competition's suddenly increased thanks to all the temps finishing, and less people take on new staff in the new year
lol you and I can't sync up schedules. I'll be catching up in all the RPs this weekend.
That's the ideal. January isn't exactly the best time to look for work, so I don't have high hopes
I think my direction with this will become clearer with time.

And to be fair, half the plot of your story was a shitty love triangle. You really can't blame me for using one.
To summarize every single possible piece of evidence so far.

Aracai: Says she's been engaged, refuses to specify gender of fiance, accused Evyrus of being homophobic, was more amused than anything by Evyrus' crush being thrust in her face, strong negative reaction to the possible advances of a specific male.
Evyrus: Mega-crushing on Aracai, made uncomfortable by Jane's flirting, much more prone to noticing physical details, the Infernape situation.
Jane: Claims to be repulsed by the idea of sexuality but still checked out Nanakia with Aracai's body, flirted with Evyrus during the blackout but her stated intention was just to throw him off guard.
i did too. It actually kind of spontaneously arose the more that I thought about and wrote the characters. Then I made a decision in planning that I later realized 100% doomed me into writing a love triangle. Or quadrangle. Or hypothetical fifth dimensional shape. It's kind of a complicated one. You'll get a tiny glimpse tomorrow.
I really didn't want to until late game, but I sort of wrote myself into a corner. There will soon be a shitty love triangle. In my defense, it has a fairly vital plot role outside of romance that actually serves to bring the major plot of Act I to a head and something of a close.
