  • Same. I don't actually like it when my chapters turn out really long, cause it makes it much harder to proofread multiple times, much harder to rewrite and much harder to convince people to read.
I know. Bizarrely, writing is what I use to remain sane from all of the other insane things I do with my time.
I will get through writing ~100k words in less than six months. So it's going to be long, but probably won't take more than perhaps 4 years to write.
Basically, yes. Act I of Vaira alone is probably going to go over 100,000 words. That will go to about a badge and a ribbon. You can do the math to figure out how many other acts that implies the existence of. And then do the math to figure out the anticipated length of this thing.
*Cuddles* Believe me, I wish I had more opportunity to

You shush you, or I'll put it off further. If my reckoning is right, there's one last chapter - the previous 50, now 51 to finish
Well, as Pavell and I define it, it means that to a point on forum sites length increases your view and review count. After that it begins to decline to near zero.
    I totally am xD

Tell me about it >_< I haven't forgotten the collab or the beta-reading, by the way. Sorry it's taking me so long, I intend to send that last chapter back tomorrow with any luck
Why do people assume I'm not a cuddler?

Something like that would be good. If not that, then maybe riffing off the growing up theme since that's pretty well established
I will almost certainly not reboot and if I do it will be some time away right now. I made a few choices at the end of editing right before I started updating that were a break from the long established plan. After writing quite a bit of the resulting product I've decided that it would have been better not to have made those changes. I'm 13.5 chapters of writing in now, though, and I want to get more done before I actually consider a reboot. But it's definitely possible if interest in the story fades when I start suffering from long runner syndrome.
Yeah... but Guyana's in the 'dex man. It's canon. I probably bent my story way too much to justify a quick and plot-irrelevant canon joke, though. Especially since if I'd left her Venezuelan she just could've been Catholic, which would be much easier to write. So if/when I do the reboot... that's happening.
What? I've told you that before

Flaws and obstacles would be the big theme I'd pick up on. I'd personally go for Final Test or something, for the school theme
    Ah. That makes sense.

Aracai's a bit odd since from her perspective it's been decades since she came from Guyana and she only lived there when she was rather young. Furthermore the nationality that she gets lumped into is usually entirely different than hers. So it's kind of complicated. For what it's worth, in very early versions of Vaira she was Venezuelan... and then I figured out that the only South American country referenced by name in the Dex was Guyana, which is not at all culturally or demographically similar to the rest of South America, so I ended up going with making her Indian by descent since the population of Guyana is about a third Indian.
Yeah... my high school was pretty nice. The US has a system that leads to some public school systems being very good and some very bad, and I was in one of the best.
My school offered classes and I already knew a lot of HTML work because for a while tags on Smogon were more or less exclusively manual things. From there learning HTML itself was only learning a few new tags.
