I took a class in high school that went through photoshop. I had to teach myself Paint and Gimp, which was mega-fun. I never really got good with either, though, but I did learn enough to make decent banners for the few sites that I did code in high school.
They have decreased in length over the last few chapters as I have cut down on things and zoomed in the focus on the characters. Not sure what length they will be when we return to the more epic moments, but when you think about it, 20 pages is an average chapter length in most books I read, so I don't really go over that.
Oh. I only learned photoshop recently and I'm pretty bad at it. I mainly use Gimp or Paint... but now I have a Mac, so I actually have no software like that. Can't really help you. Sorry.
Doing a Dreamweaver site in a month wouldn't be too bad. I could reliably bang out a page in three-ish hours max when I was used to using it. HTML by hand took much longer. If you don't have access to Dreamweaver or don't want to use it, I would start on the page really early.
Well, the scheduling took a few hours, but now it's looking good. I'm just so tired . . . this semester is going to hurt . . .
It's only the beginning of the crazy! I also made some espresso that was way too concentrated, and when I poured it out in the sink, it was entirely black. Whew.
Not in this area, necessarily. The big name professors and department heads make significantly more (engineering, particularly), but it really just depends on a lot of factors.
I had a lot of smaller projects due this week. And it's been a long, long time since I had nothing time.
For the Web page, are you using software, HTML, or an actual programming language? If it's a basic HTML page or you have software it's not going to be to bad. If it's advanced HTML or in another language... have fun, man.
Oh I couldn't be having with a cardboard cut-out Johto. Yeah, friendship I suppose is a pretty damn common theme in Pokémon fanfic. I sometimes wonder if I should find more space for their squabbling and disagreements. The idea of the future I intend to keep coming back to in greater depth, especially with Eve who necessarily isn't really thinking much about it right now
Usually does. *sigh* the man could weave blazing glory and deep melancholy into the same battle
Oh, very well, have it your way. There are three main themes I bear in mind. The most superficial is exploration and adventure. So far in Part I the narrative has quite deliberately lingered over the details of the new places in Johto. The point is to try and make reading the story an adventure of sorts - the reader is discovering the new places in Johto at the same time as the characters are.
The second theme, unsurprisingly, is friendship. Josh and Eve's friendship, I suppose, is an odd one, but then it will be given that they're on the road together.
And thirdly, most seriously, the future. Most of the time this is expressed through Josh and Eve's plans - or lack thereof - for their own futures. It's a deliberate choice to make those quite vague, in contrast to the usual Pokémon trope where the protagonists have a very clear goal that they're striving towards
