Oh, I'm just making lame jokes. I haven't even read any of his books!
That's what I mean, man. It'll take me forever to complete . . . but I won't lie to you either, it's really good.
ALL WE DO ALL DAY IS CHANT "USA! USA!" AND SO WILL YOU
Then no espresso for you, sir!
One or more of these: Improper Methodologies for Awakening a Primordial Ice Monster, Amazing Grace and the Pokemon Net Center, or It Came From Above. Malegænt (the one I always talk about), Bansheebusters, and The Fantasy of Mister Phony are the big ones that will take a long time to complete/perfect.
Polio is a good choice (oh gosh that sounds terrible without context) because it's a disease that's well known and understood. I'm not sure if it's something that will kill eventually, so you should look into that.
Exactly. And that pisses me off so bad! But, of course, some ideas are worth all the trouble they cause to the plot. It's a crazy story . . . you have the protagonist (1st person), titular antagonist (first person), a secondary-but-not-really antagonist (3rd person), the immediate antagonists (3rd person), and a couple of protagonists (3rd person). But it's meant to blur the lines of good/bad a lot. I'd tell you more, but I'd spoil way too much.
COME TO THE GREAT UNITED STATES OF AMERICA! LET US ASSIMILATE YOU!
I am the espresso master. You may get in line to bow.
Yay! I should have something in, then. Something.
Paralysis? HA, I am not funny-- maybe quadriplegia . . . the thing that FDR had (polio) eventually paralyzed him.
Some degree of conflict between not liking the way others react to the disability and actually needing assistance. It's not always a terribly strong conflict and it takes many different forms depending upon the personality. Whether it's wishing that one particular individual spent less time on you and more time on themselves, disliking quick and subconscious judgments from new people, dealing with abled people taking things for granted or what not it's usually there at least occasionally.
Yeah, free time is very important. That's why I use writing for destressing. And you've got to take night classes? Gosh!
It's a lot harder than you'd think. Sure, those big plot points are easy to fill out, but the finer details that are meant to help drive the plot (or are subplots) are much harder to incorporate at the right time. I'm trying to include a parallel storyline with one of the other antagonistic characters, and it's hard because he has a strange relationship with another, who is part of the main storyline.
Oh dear. That's very concerning. Hope it starts to turn out better soon.
By volume, a single shot of espresso technically has less caffeine than a cup of coffee. However, if you increase the concentration of the espresso and simply make more of it, then you're looking at a lot more caffeine content. I am an espresso connoisseur, man.
Hey, good luck! I hope to compete in the next round (whenever it is . . . Spring? Summer?)!
Well, my college plans fell through. That's the big one. I owe a lot of money to the school I was attending and can't go anywhere else until I pay them off.
Well... maybe. She's minor enough so far that it hasn't really been necessary. If you do intend to make her a central character (top five or so) knowing would help. More than just the disease itself I'd look at how people actually react, psychologically, to being partially paralyzed. From what I read for a similar injury I got the impression that different people can react in radically different ways, but some general themes are nigh-constant.
