I think you're paradoxically really, really keen for Bakuman to end, because you think that's the most exciting thing that can happen in Bakuman. I think that's always been the big difference between you and I reading this manga.
Eiji wrote filler arcs for the Zombie Gun anime, which is why I suggested that. Sure, things do sometimes come easy in life, but it was SUCH an anti-climax. After every character on the way up to the anime staff declaring their intention to fight, the anime staff just not even getting annoyed was disappointing.
Ok, sure, so the anime staff weren't likely to say no or make demands, but they could have at least been unhappy, and maybe said "We're gonna put tighter restrictions on you in the future", which might not have had an enormous impact on Mashiro and Takagi themselves, but may have affected how the EiC acted because it would definitely affect him. At the end of the day, it's not like Jump are holding all the cards - neither of them want the other to pull out, so it's not like the anime staff are completely unable to express any kind of distaste for fear of Jump pulling the anime (particularly since contracts will have been signed by this point). There could have been something, even if it was resolved by the end of the chapter.
Sure, but I think it's a bit of a cop out to build up for something for weeks upon weeks and then have it be an absolute anti-climax.
You're right that having them object in a really obvious way would've been predictable and boring, but I feel like there are ways to make a story particularly interesting without making it anti-climactic. They've done it loads of times with Ashirogi Muto's clashes with the old EiC - he always objected to what they wanted to do, as you would expect, but he always did it in such an awesome way that it wasn't boring.
It would have been kinda cool if the anime staff had made some sort of demand or given some sort of ultimatum, in my opinion. It could have been something as simple as bargaining with the new EiC for a better deal given that they weren't told the whole story, or something like that. Oh, I know what would have been interesting! If they had to write extra things just for the anime, like either occassional spin off one shots to tide them over, or filler arcs for the anime. I know that doesn't make an incredible amount of sense, but I can't help but feel there are ways that it could be made to make sense, you know what I mean?
Oh, I see what you mean. Yeah, I kinda agree in a way.
Tbh, I was disappointed with the reaction of the anime staff. I think for how much they built up that the anime staff wouldn't be happy, it was just too easy for the new EiC (can't remember his name). Of course, I wanted them to still be able to get the anime, but I thought there would be a little more to it than the anime staff just saying "Sure, whatever" when there's been drama built up for weeks about how the anime staff will be pissed off.
Yo~ Hey, question on Nebula Academy. I'm kinda unfamiliar with the whole mythos; I'm seein' pretty much everyone has their characters with stuff like enhanced strength. So is that kind of a given for supernatural beings? In other words, is it okay if I have my dude have stuff like that?
I'm mostly askin' 'cause last time, I gave my character too few powers and he couldn't do anything.
i just feel like he has that usual action/adventure main character. he's headstrong, cares a lot about his friends, brave, smart. if he could lean back a little on the bravery and maybe have some feelings of uncertainty every now and then. i don't know if this was in any previous chapter or the last book but i just want him to feel like he really failed something and it's hard for him to pick the pieces back up again. have some regrets, learn to forgive and forget. kind of harsh but, i like a character in a story who acts like a human and breaks down every now and then.
