  • Well, while there are loads of agents who represent all genres and all genres except science fiction and fantasy, I know that some of the larger agencies have different employees for different genres (Like an agency will have a SF/Fantasy/Sports guy, while someone else handles Women's Literature etc).
Inorite? The majority of Sci-Fi and Fantasy seems to be handled by agents who accept any genre.
I'm about to begin editing the penultimate chapter (would have been the final chapter if not for my habit of adding in new scenes). I was up until about 1am the day before yesterday looking through the complete list of UK literary agents xD. It's amazing how few of them accept fantasy and science fiction.
No, wasn't that episode 9? She just ran up to the other general and demanded she stopped, and then the episode was over.
Alright, trying to work. In fact, I'm going to log off and I'll come back on later when I've finished.

    Nice chatting to you.
I'm fine thanks. Mum randomly banned the use of alarm clocks this morning, so I woke up late =3
Yeah, rivals are supposed to be roughly equal (though one can be slightly superior) but if you're sure you can beat Legacy that means that you are better than him and therefore he can't be a rival to you.

I haven't read Bakuman yet, been really busy with work and I forgot about it. May read it tonight or might have to put it off until tomorrow :(
Just because people were lazy with justifications didn't mean they didn't actually read and like Legacy's story. That's an unfair assumption.

Didn't I lay out that mods were eligible in the new rules? I thought I had.

    Partly cause...?

And if you were sure you could beat Legacy obviously you couldn't refer to him as your rival, that would be ridiculous. Of course you can refer to him as your rival if you're not sure if you can beat him, that's pretty much a prerequisite for someone being a legitimate rival.
I disagree. Winning with no competition is only really fun once. I think if you know you're going to win repeatedly, it just takes the fun out of winning.

Also, I think it's really unfair to suggest that people who haven't even read Legacy's story vote for him. Frankly, Pocket Monsters (the original, I haven't read the remake) is the best fanfiction I have ever read by a considerable margin. The praise Legacy gets is totally deserved.

Tbh, though, there's no reason that WW mods shouldn't be eligible - just like there's no reason why non-mods should be blocked out of judging the awards. You become a mod based on your management skills not your writing skills. There's no reason why the best mods couldn't be horrible writers and the best writers couldn't, for whatever reason, not be mods at all. Mods don't have an unfair advantage on the basis of being mods - they're the same as everyone else. Blocking them out of the competition encourages the view of mods as somehow above other users which is not a view that is conducive to a positive community spirit.

Anyway, Legacy's fic is a Journey Fic and yours is Alternate so you won't be up against him. That doesn't mean it will be an easy win, though. Don't forget, it's based on judging now, not voting so popularity counts for nothing. I hope you don't forget that you're probably the second most popular author in the WW while you're saying that Legacy gets votes unfairly because he has this magical aura of popularity around him. It goes both ways.
Yes, mods are going to be up in the running.

Personally, I'm not sure that I've posted anything since the last awards except for 'Dear Mother' which is not only not particularly good (as I wrote it about three years ago) but is also non-Pokemon. Even if I have written something since then, it's been long enough that everyone will have forgotten about it anyway.

Most of the other mods have current stories, though, I think.
