  • Yep. So the texts I'm using are Tomorrow, When the War Began by John Marsden (novel), The Looking-Glass Wars by Frank Beddor (novel), The Hero by Siegfried Sassoon (poem) and Grave of the Fireflies, directed by Isao Takahata (film). It's going to take a while. n_n
Hmm? What's what about? The work I have to do? It's a report on the representation of the impacts and consequences of war in fiction. It has to be the size of about five essays, so maybe four to six thousand words all up, plus a good amount of proof that I've actually done some research.
STALKER Just kidding. Yeah, I did. I sat down and read seven chapters in the last few hours XD. Took me a while, but despite it being the holidays, I'm a heck of a lot busier than I thought I'd be. *sigh* I almost want to just sit down and do some writing for the sake of relaxing a little.
I love reading your conversations with TNMH (first username I saw him use and it's the only one I use.). Why stop joking all the time? He's awesome for it.
Okay, well you know your story better than I do so I'm sure you will make it work brilliantly!
Mmm but how long is he faking this character for?

That can seem a bit unbelievable at times.
Yeah, when he stops laughing and stuff and starts speaking with a snarl he's really scary. Of course, he goes back to laughing and stuff after not too long. Don't let your character get out of character.
    I suppose so, yes.

Be careful though, don't do it too suddenly. If you do that, it might just seem a bit weird. I'm sure you'll do it fine though.
Haha, well, tbf, sometimes humour actually helps build up the seriousness of a situation, depending on how it's done.

The change from light heartedness to seriousness can seem more dramatic than a gradual increase at times.
...I already said that if you want to discuss that sort of thing, I'd prefer it if you did so by PM.

I don't mind talking about it but anyone can see these messages.

NOTE FOR ANYONE: Instrutilus is fine and you shouldn't worry about him. I've talked to him since he left BMGf.
That would work as an epilogue but try to space out the memories of the fight. In other words, don't do it all in one go. Have it so he remembers the end of the fight bit by bit throughout the epilogue.
Weeeeeeell, it still wouldn't really be an epilogue.

I mean you could structure a chapter like that, of course but like, for example, a prologue wouldn't be a prologue if it was just the same stuff as the first chapter, even if half of it wasn't.

Still, you can call your chapters whatever you want really.
Well, same as a prologue really.

Separate from the main action but still related and relevant to the main story.

Most epilogues are set some years after the last chapter to show what happens when everything settles down after the big climax. If Dragon's Roar just goes last chapter to epilogue with no time skip and it's still the same battle or action then it's not really an epilogue, it's just the last chapter - titled as an epilogue.
Well in that case is it really an epilogue or is it just the actual last chapter?
Well it won't be a surprise if you put it on a public visitor message!

I was planning on doing an epilogue to Rival's Story originally but I decided against it. It felt like it wouldn't add much to the story and it would be better to just leave it as it was. Nothing wrong with ending on a cliff hanger. =P
