  • Yeah, he is the most obvious anti-hero really. I just wasn't thinking when I posted.

I mean, Blue is barely an anti-hero.
All I can think of it "Black-hearted evil, Brave-hearted Hero, I am all, I am all I am." for his theme :p
    Oh sorry.

I thought I had replied but I guess the thing crashed or something. My bad.

You're right, I suppose, Lance is a bad example then. I guess I just like anti-heroes. Wow... I'm just thinking through all of my fics in my head and I cannot think of a single protagonist other than Silph who isn't an anti-hero...
Well you mentioned he was an anti-hero so it's a bit different I guess.

Same for Dragon Days, really, people tend to like Rex better than they like Lance.
    Oh yeah, you're right.

The rival thing is kind of important I guess because in a way the rival is always more impressive than the actual main character since the story is told from the main character's point of view. That means that the viewer/reader sees a lot more of the main characters flaws but with the rival instead sees how impressive and unbeatable they seem so that the clashes, when told from the main character's point of view, are more interesting.
Heh? Oh, right! I didn't mean you specifically. ^_^;;; Hell, I did the exact same thing myself when I first started writing. I too was only thirteen.
Well, not usually. I'm willing to give them as much of a chance as any other kind, though. I know there are some good ones out there. The problem is, though, that the genre has been tainted by the hundreds of new writers who've simply decided it looks easier than actually coming out with something original. :/
Yeah, there's also the stacking tea cups thing for L.

Eiji and L are very similar characters in a way if you think about it.
    Yeah.

Also, did you know that some of the few things that are actually known about him are traits and habits that are displayed in the characters of L and Eiji?
    Yeah, exactly.

I think the author of DN/Bakuman has serious issues with women.

It's pretty common that he features female characters who are aggressively obsessive with the male protagonists.
But even Aoki was a total bitch when she was introduced.

I think Miho is the only one who hasn't at some point been presented as a total bitch or moron.
Yeah, who is the one competent and nice female character in Bakuman? Miho?
Yes...very tempted to look at volume 12...NO! XD Anyway, has Death Note been dubbed or is it just subs? I'm guessing dubbed since I think I recall you saying you don't watch subs?
Yeah, I've heard about some people, when they read books, they just go straight to the ending and then read the story xD
Yes, and "his" gender is a secret too. Although I personally would be very surprised if it was a woman. The writing seems too male for the writer to be a woman in my opinion.

And, yeah, the Super Hero Legend guy you're talking about right?
SHUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUSHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NO MORE SPOILERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And how do you even know this?! XD
