  • Hue hue, no one seems to know what the name means :D! And that's perfectly fine! Good luck :D!
Yo! Since you don't have any shinies would you like one of mine? I have a legit shiny Charizard called Luna and a action replayed Blastoise that has no nickname.
Oh but if I shared that I'd sacrifice my pseudo-anonymity :p

What you been up to lately? I've been pretty obsessed with Animal Crossing:New Leaf
The only forums I use daily are here and RYM. Go on reddit, discogs, amazon etc. Nothing too specialist.
To be fair, running at the same time as 50s pop we had a lot of fantastic jazz being released. Pop music was never meant to be complex, it's a money maker.

I like the internet, there's a couple good sites.
    More like spelling nazi :p

It's pretty much always rainy or windy here, so you get used to it. Bought a whole bunch of 50s/60s compilations, cause I love the pop music that they had back then. Some of its crap, but a lot of it is full of charm.
I think any genre can be great, you gotta take the sweet with the sour. I mean, for every Abbey Road, there's a hundred less-than-stellar 60s pop, but it's all worth it in the end when you find that gem.

Anyway, hows your week been going?
I used to be a huge metalhead. Don't really listen to much metal nowadays. I consider jazz my second love, after techno. Techno is my favourite, I have countless CDs of it, probably about half my collection si Techno ro House. Maybe more than that! By techno I don't mean dumbass club music for drunk guys to pump their wrists up at.

Couple examples of what I like:

Basic Channel - Quadrant Dub II
    cv313 - Seconds To Forever
    Plastikman - Spastik
What other types of music do you like?

Traditionally it's sheep lungs, heart and liver, minced with onion, oatmeal, salt and spices, then encased in a sheep's stomach. The one's you'll find in store don't usually use the stomach, the just just make it up into a rugby ball sized sausage of the above. Sounds disgusting, but it's so good! Especially with mashed potatoes and turnips.
Yeah they really are fantastic, such raw energy!

You kind of just have to be in the mood for it, sometimes I just want an easier listen, so it's not always to my taste. But it is great.

Haha yeah. Have you tried haggis? Its fucking delicious.
All right, I look forward to having you in the group. :)

Unfortunately nobody can make any new discussions due to a glitch, but there's always discussion going on so feel free to join in wherever you want. I'm really hoping this will be fixed soon, but I'm not sure how long it will take since it's been like this for over a month now.

No problem at all! It is an open group. Having people ask to join helps in a few ways. Only the people who are really interested are going to bother requesting membership, so I get fewer people who just join for the heck of it, also it lets me keep up with who's joining so I can at least get an idea of who they are before they join. Keeping the size down so that everyone knows everyone has been a priority of mine, but I'm glad to have people who are really interested in getting to know the people there. :)
Oh sorry, I have a tendency to procrastinate with requests.

Before letting people in, I generally ask a couple questions to make sure they're in the right mindset for this group.

    1. Why are you interested in joining The Wash?

    2. Will you be active and regularly participate in discussion?
    haha don't worry about it.

I do have some albums outside of the obvious classics, one of my absolute favourites is Japanese group Soil and Pimp, who might just be the most hardcore jazz group. If you haven't heard of them. I'd certainly suggest giving a go: Avalanche, A Wheel Within A Wheel, Summer Goddess.

Spiritual Unity is fantastic, it's hard-going, but once it clicks, there's no going back.

I've not tried a lot of things, like sweet potatoes XD
Apologies for taking my time to respond.

I like jazz, but I'm not the kind of person to go digging for obscure Polish gems. My jazz taste is very mainstream. I have a lot of Miles Davis albums, from his cool jazz days up to his fusion. I think my favourite of his is In a Silent Way, fantastic production, lots of great ideas and melodies, the best I've heard from him. I also really like Kind of Blue, Jack Johnson, On the Corner, Sketches of Spain, and Live Evil.

I'm not a huge fan of Coltrane, and yet I consider A Love Supreme my absolute favourite jazz album. Flawless playing, great sense of discovery and melody. Gorgeous.

Mingus, I need to listen to more of, but I generally like him. Really love Albert Ayler's Spiritual Unity. It's not as avant-garde as I would have thought, it seems to easily border hard-bop and free jazz at the same time. Really fantastic playing.

I don't live anywhere near NYC, Scotland actually. We do have jazz clubs over here though.

And I've never had ribs, bizarrely.
