Yeah, the Dawn special looks the worse of the two. They're going all-out with the Brock one, I also wonder what the Rhyperior Vs. Latias battle is from in the Brock ep.
To be honest I don't care either way. The Dawn special is looking very meh from the pics so far. Just Dawn talks to Prof. Rowan about what to do next, gets some random fangirl or something and they likely get attacked by wild Pokemon, then Cynda evolves...that's the gist of it.
Not sure why Rowan is in this, since when did Dawn ever talk to him for advice outside the first episode?
I'm not as entertained either, but I think it's tolerable. Ash being the only starring character can be tedious, and him catching the 3 starters allows for less predictable Pokemon.
I think Oshawott and Snivy will be getting story lines, at least. Possibly Zuruggu, too. The battles, yes, could be better. The first gym battle was done quite well, but the Shooty and Aloe battles were rushed (well, the second Aloe battle was okay). Dento is hilarious and was unexpected after Brock.
I know it's been said many times before, but I think if we give it more time the show will improve.
Gliscor entertained me in some episodes, but I can see where you're coming from. I'm glad that it showed signs of maturity by not crying when it went with the air master, though. I do remember Brock helping Nurse Joy at the Pokemon Center a few times (one from the Lyra/Khoury arc where Ash and Khoury attempted to capture a Gible, and the episode after the Lake Acuity battle with Paul).
I use it as an emotional outlet. It's a great way of venting.
