  • To be politically correct, we don't where the Sinjoh Ruins are located either way. I'll admit that I've never considered the possibility that another dimension could be involved, not only because of the map but also because Cynthia and the Hiker had found a way to get the ruins without Arceus or Unown.
You do know that the Sinjoh Ruins are part of an unseen region, right? The snow might not be a result of any interference... Cynthia was not surprised by it, comparing the area to Sinnoh.

Despite its name, the Hall of Origin is probably just where Arceus had slept for billions of years. Even the Sinnoh legend (which is probably inaccurate) pertains to the universe being created from chaos, with Arceus finding a place of rest after Sinnoh had been created.
While I certainly don't disagree with you about the analogy to complex numbers, the weather in the Ruins of Alph has never been shown to be erratic. One of my gripes with HGSS is that the reference to the patterns recently disappearing was dropped, so you could no longer tell how bizarre they really were.

I'm a bit surprised that you're giving more weight to Dialga and Palkia than to Arceus. What is your take on the Hall of Origin? I would say that the Azure Flute opened the extra dimension inhabited by Arceus, and it was through that dimension that Arceus and Unown took Ethan/Lyra to the Sinjoh Ruins.

I'm more intrigued by the new Creation trio in the Sinjoh Ruins than by the old group. Why were they created? To prevent a more universe-shattering incident than the last one? To allow for time to flow more slowly before the end is nigh?
This raises the following question: Cyrus had to rely on Dialga and Palkia, which were subervient to Arceus, and this made his plan completely unfeasible. Likewise, even though it might be rebellious, Giratina cannot defy the laws laid out by Arceus and the Unown. But what would happen if there turned out to be another Pokémon that has existed since before Arceus was born? I strongly suspect that the Unown are one such entity, but there might very well be another one.
I'm afraid I don't like the theory about Ditto. To me that sort of resolution would devalue the mystery.

In the games, it doesn't seem that Dialga and Palkia have ever fought. Regardless of Cyrus' intentions, as far as we know he was indeed responsible for the distortions (via Dialga and Palkia, of course). What Arceus and the Unown thought of this I don't know, but they probably had nothing to fear because Giratina had been programmed to keep the balance between the universe and the Distortion World at bay. Cyrus had no chance to win to begin with.
I'm not entirely following your train of thought about the Ruins of Alph occupying a separate dimension. Do you think so because of the link between radio waves and the patterns on the walls? That was established in the Japanese version of Crystal; the waves emitted by the Pokémon Communication Center made the patterns appear.

So how could the Spear Pillar event be related? That's an idea that I had too considered before the remakes were released, but sadly nothing became of it. Instead we got the Sinjoh Ruins event, where the Unown themselves joined forces with Arceus to affect reality in more ways than one.
Ruins of Alph: The role of the Unown in the universe, their connection to Arceus and the Johto legendaries, and their history with the tribe that built the ruins.
Brass Tower: What was the source of the thunder that caused the fire? What did the legendary beasts use to be? What is the nature of the bond between Ho-Oh and Lugia?
GS Ball: What did it contain? Why was Ilex Forest restless because of it? Did Celebi send it through time to avert a disaster?
