The Micro wasn't intended to replace the GB line, was it? Besides, the DSi XL is a good idea. I get hand cramps playing the DS too long, and I have the fatty one.
From what I've heard before (I think it was from NoA's Twitter), the 3-D can be turned off, but it's hard to say whether or not the games would be compatible with standard DSes.
But. I don't think they would have bothered with a DSi XL if they were going to make it obsolete so soon.
"Aonuma stated that Ocarina of Time 3D will be "different" and "unique in its own way" using the capabilities of the Nintendo 3DS. He also mentioned that he is looking forward to "new ways to implement 3D into the gameplay and make it fresh and new," saying that it will not be a port but a "retelling of the tale using new technologies to reinvent it.""
I hope they add a lot of stuff to it. I'm not sure if I would get yet another port. As it stands, I could probably play OoT with my eyes closed and still get 100% completion. That's how many times I've played it.
They did show Majora's Mask in the beginning of one trailer. As kind of "Last time on the Legend of Zelda" kind of thing. Along with the other 3-D main console Zeldas.
I wonder if this game will call back to those 4 games. Perhaps remerging the timeline.
