  • Oh, that (somehow) reminds me. Thanks to Enzap, I found out that the "Yakkity-yak, don't talk back!" line from Pac Attack was probably a reference to an old 50s song. XD
    I hope so too. ._.;

    ... are you okay though? That bout of frustration didn't have any lasting effects, did it?
    ... hard to tell since the duel had to be called off. My friend, well ... apparently there's something he has to deal with right now. :c
    Oh .... that's very nice of you. :D Thanks.

    Well, basically after a certain point in the game, you can start doing Loyalty missions for characters. Completing them with a result satisfactory to the character will allow you to gain their loyalty (and this usually isn't hard to do), and unlock a bonus power ... both for them, and for you. You'll be able to use the Advanced Training upgrade in the tech lab to grant yourself one of your previously-unlocked bonus powers, and in a new playthrough after beating the game at least once, you'll be able to pick a bonus power before you even start playing.
    Anything else fun happen today?

    Indeed. During a mission at about the halfway point of the story, you find a pile of confiscated weapons. You are then given the option to either receive training in a new weapon type, or advanced training in a type you can already use. I chose advanced sniper rifle training, which unlocked the Widow Anti-Material Rifle. It only has one shot before it reloads, but it cycles basically the same as a bolt-action sniper rifle, so the wait isn't terribly long. And I did a mission just before logging on here that had given me some trouble in previous playthroughs ... only to breeze through it. There were a few fights with a particularly tough variety of enemy, but hitting his weak spot with the Widow did enough damage that, with the help of one or two of my team's powers (or even my own), two shots from the Widow was enough to take down an enemy that normally took either a fair amount of heavy weapon ammo, or many clips from a regular weapon, to fell. I think my bonus power played a huge role in it, though. It's Warp Ammo, a biotic ammunition enhancement that increases damage against health, armor, and barriers (this enemy had armor). When maxed out and evolved into Heavy Warp Ammo, it's more or less a flat +50% damage bonus. It doesn't increase damage against shields, but shields are rarely a problem for me anyway. :p
