Because of that, I rather turn to a book than a movie for a story, although a movie can have a great story. Movies have a much easier time producing nice action sequences though, and as such, are much easier to watch if you want to see explosions.
I know movies can have deep stories, but from my experience, stories in the genres I am invested in (Fantasy) are better in books. Books has more space, can delve into more stuff, go deeper, than movies can, because of time limit.
