Turning in adroit performances always helps. I find it helps even more when the actors reach less a point where they're trying to discern a "puzzle" of how to bring persona to their performance and more simply ebb with the flow, forgetting the puzzle, as it were. I think that's attuning to a performance that does not draw attention to itself but that is just as good in its undertones, overtones, and overall stature in whatever character said actor is inhibiting.
