Although that said, my recently trained Starmie is the typical mold (Boltbeam, Surf, Recover) except for it's abysmal speed (5 IVs), as is my Registeel (Iron Head, ThunderPunch, Explosion, Curse - which I want to replace with Stealth Rocks). I think my Aggron is atypical though; Outrage, Superpower, Ice Punch, and Aqua Tail.
And why it's so difficult to come up with anything for the fourth slot for Typhlosion! Swift is terrible power, I never use Focus Punch, and I need something outside of Fire/fighting attack moves. I'd hoped that he could learn Thunderbolt, but its only ThunderPunch. Urgh.
Depends on how far into the Calm Minding Cresselia is; but Punishment... doesn't that get stronger if the opponent gets Stat Boosts? I give it (and most of my Pokemon actually) Expert Belt, so it can hit harder on the super effective and still switch attacks; that's why I gave it four such different moves. Either way it could be close (though I reckon the Cresselia would win). I thought of adding Swords Dance, but Primeape's attack is honestly so high, even with only 22 IVs, and its defences so fragile that I thought it wouldn't be worth it.
Quite honestly, it's the moveset I'm proudest of; Close Combat hits anything hard and gets STAB; Ice Punch deals with Dragons, Flyers, and Grass-types, while Punishment provides some defense against Psychics and Ghosts (particularly the pesky Gengar and Dusknoir). Seed Bomb is kinda filler; good on waters, rocks, and grounds, and it gets a stronger neutral hit on Gyarados than Ice Punch )with less PP wastage than Punishment).
It's Hidden Power Rock; damn, that'll only help me against Flying types since Ice and Bug are covered by fire. Oh well; might be useful against Gyarados and Salamence still.
In another news, you should see my Lonely Primeape. 22 Attack IVs with 27 Speed IVs and what I think is a good (and unusual) moveset to boost that should strike most at least neutrally: Punishment, Seed Bomb, Ice Punch, Close Combat. Wrong ability though; I've got Anger Point instead of the other one, but oh well; it could still come in useful at times!
Nah, that's okay; I spent too much time raising this guy and it doesn't bother me unduly. Without a Wi-Fi battle it's impossible to know exactly (the Hidden Power keeps changing for example), and he'll still do boatloads of damage with Specs or an Expert Belt.
Hahah, it is EV trained; max special attack and max speed. One of my first! I was thinking ThunderPunch just for Gyarados, since I've seen quite a few of them recently; coupled with an Expert Belt it still deals quite a bit against them I think. I don't have any Sunny Day support; you know me, I just battle with the ones I like without paying much attention to actual teams ;-)
Recommend me a move for my Typhlosion Right now I have Focus Blast, Lava Plume (to be replaced by Eruption), Swift, and Flamethrower. I need summat to replace Swift; I thought Hidden Power, but on my Typhlosion it would be a 66 power fire *rolleyes*. Any suggestions? Right now I'm thinking Attract or ThunderPunch...
