  • RUMOR: Behind the Scenes with First Party Hardware and Third Party Softwear Next Gen
I found this piece of fanfiction rumors (Ctrl+F Pokemon). I always find stuff like this entertaining, because they are sometimes food for thought.

How would you feel if we had to wait for 2014 for Generation VI? I'm not particularly fond of that -- by the international release in 2015... Who knows where we'll be by then? Personally, I'm rather sure my time will have shrinked quite a bit, and you can imagine what that would mean. On the other hand, I'm curious about the reaction of the fandom. People would certainly miss Pokémon, which they now take for granted.
Everything seems so over the place right now with N appearing, Team Plasma likely to appear, and Team Rocket coming back. I really don't understand why they went to Kanto only to come back too, seems random to specifically mention them going back to Kanto - they could have just disappeared for a while, they didn't need to really mention a specific place so it just seems odd. It'll probably just all be in Unova, which is disappointing. They've been practically everywhere they can be in Unova other than very few select places. I can't see them going anywhere else though, going to Hoenn, Sinnoh or Johto would be completely random - the only one that would have made sense was Kanto since TR went back there (not that I would even want them to go back to Kanto).

The N saga starts January 17th, so the League must end on January 10th. A new Eeveelution cup has gone online for B2W2, all the focus on Eevee is just so random to me - Im still holding out hope it is possible we'll see a new Eeveelution. And wasn't that time Masuda teased the announcement of B2W2 a Q&A session rather than an autograph signing? If he's just going to be sitting there signing autographs I don't think he'll hint towards anything.
Oh, an autograph session? I was gonna say "January will be interesting," but I guess we may not have to wait for this long.
Have patience... Things are on schedule. :p Sure, it wouldn't be bad to see their old policy of soft-promoting the incoming generation, like, a couple years before it debuts. But the franchise is now smothered by all they new things they've introduced... Especially during this Generation, with 156 new critters, it was hard to show Generation VI Pokémon until now. Not all fans have stomach to be seeing new Pokémon before they're even used to the old ones. That's why I hope the next wave will be relatively small (even if that means having a second and even third wave during the Generation). I'd be very happy with packets of 50, or perhaps an initial appearance of 70 followed by two waves of 30, or somewhere around there.

We must also start expecting a Wii U game. Could it be the next spin-off? You and I know it's too late for a battle game and even later for an RPG. I guess there's a chance for PokéPark 3? I smell an Ambrella eShop game, but you never know what Creatures is up to...
Well, the wording does seem to suggest that the setting won't be Kanto. To be honest, I think it suggests they are back in Unova.
"In BW Season 2, we get information that TR, who supposedly returned to Kanto, is back [in Unova]?! What on earth is their aim?!"

By the way, why do you take issue about Team Plasma on M16? Looking aside the fact that Generation VI will undoubtedly launch in 2013, I think this would be interesting. I haven't watched any movie since M09 (which I actually saw on Greek TV by chance), but I'd be very interested in this one though to be honest it's itching me to watch the ones I haven't seen at some point. It would be a nice break and, in more ways than one, have a potentially similar to the story structure of M01. Something that can fit the TV Show directly one way or another. Now, I'm not saying this is likely to happen (with however N Episode will last, how they will probably want to promote Generation VI, and so on); but would I like to see it happen? Definitely! :p
Well, I'm a little skeptical, since this pretty much came out of nowhere, and they're choosing to feature N/Team Plasma so late in Best Wishes. I'm happy he's at least making an appearance, but my expectations aren't that high.
So I guess this may be the arc that may stretch out until Gen VI is released, unless it's a single episode like it says - which would be extremely pointless and random.

It's really annoying that they decide to make this happen now of all times. Like you said, this should have been done when B2W2 were released.. talk about delayed. It's too late now, I don't think much people even care much anymore. Like really, after two year's they finally give an episode with N? Annoying. I'm sick of Unova, I just want them to move on already.
At the start of the generation I was kind of curious to see how N would be like in the anime. He has got something that makes him feel weird to see in the anime's world somehow. I wonder if they anime will duplicate the game's story. Normally, I'd say this would be quite boring; but somehow I feel that whatever else they did would be even more lackluster. In any case, I guess this will be what remains of Best Wishes. The question is: will it be limited to Unova? I wish they would at least go northnern or something, show more land based on GameFreak advisory.
Funnily enough, I hadn't even considered Giovanni. Volkner could have been a jerk, but I indeed can't imagine Giovanni having pure-hearted Gym battles either. That makes me wonder even more. In BW, Gyms were made to sound like battles that simply recognized trainers' skills and potential rather than full battles. Of course, that is partly evident from the fact that Gym Leaders don't use their regular team for the challenges, but I guess that especially for the last few Leaders that is a bit arguable.

    ----------
"Man oh man... What is going on today? Challengers coming one right after another. Well, no matter. I am Grimsley of the Elite Four, and I will fulfill my duty to be your opponent."
    ----------
I guess that the higher tier the Gym Leader the more "real" the battle is? Either that, or Unova's League is quite differently organized. (From an in-world perspective that's not hard to notice. With Kanto's last GL regularly skipping his duties and being Team freaking Rocket's boss, Johto's one refusing to hand the badge, Hoenn's one not being able to decide whether he wants to be a GL or the Champion and Sinnoh's one just chillin' all the time you gotta give PokeUSA's League committee some credit... LOL. :p)
It would be understandable to not have all of them, if only because of the scale of that number in comparison to the game's world -- but 144 is pathetic. That's not even the number of all native Unova Pokémon... Somehow, I doubt there are just 144. I'm sure all Unova families would be included, and since we know quite a few other ones, the number easily escalates to over 200. If they're just saving them for DLC though, that's really sad (albeit expected).

Don't write out the co-op missions. Do note that since, inevitably, they aren't the story's stars, it's rather good they're in a special sort of mission rather than just be in a regular Legendary Pokémon mission MDs usually have.
I guess I was exaggerating a little, but I expected the answers to be a little less politically correct. :p

To be fair, Gym Leaders in the anime are quite different (especially during Generation I). I was always given the impression that in the games they were indeed a test to the trainers rather than a real battle (not to say they were backing off, but with them not using their standard Pokémon and so on...). Of course, that itself has been contradicted during the game. Specifically, I remember Clair's reaction when she lost in the final Gym Battle, unwilling to hand the badge. Did she find Ethan to be unworthy of the badge? Even so, she mentioned that he is the only trainer she's ever lost to besides Lance. Being in the position of a Gym Leader, is that even possible?
    I was being sarcastic. :p

I think Masuda's answers give the impression that his vision about the Pokémon world is way too flat. His answers don't even begin to describe how I would expect to have these questions answered after playing the games. Maybe it's just me? I'm not sure... But just look at his answer to the last question. It's like this is the first time he ever thought of this possibility. And "perhaps there is probably a lot of different food that we can’t even think of"? Seriously? He also seems to be on the verge about what he thinks of the anime in relation to the games.

I'm so glad he didn't answer the Gym Leaders question.
    Pokémon's Burning Questions

The Pokémon World is a fantastic, magical place where all sorts of things happen, right?

Masuda: No. No it's not. It's just what you see in the games. Maybe even less. Stop imagining things, you're not the director of Pokémon.

Am I biased because of what I just read, or does Unno actually have a very nice vision though?
I doubt that's up to Masuda though. He is the director, but this is more like for the marketing department to decide. Ishihara approves of tons of merchandise every year; he'd probably be happy with paid DLC.
That's how it is with DLC these days. It's a gray line, to be honest. I mean, would this content exist was it not to be paid for? I guess that some may have, since there have been extra missions in the previous games. Still, I don't think date of creation matters at all when judging if something is worth charging for. What matters is the intention of its creation, and how consistent it is with the standards that have been set previously. There have to be some free extra missions, and anything that is to be charged should literally be extra, rather something essential to the main story.

That's probably going to be the case with the main series as well. I wonder if event Pokémon are going to be distributed likewise. Hopefully not, although to be fair, there are a few ways to implement this in a justified way. For example, the early release downloadable event (like Victiny's) could keep on existing, but being free to those who preordered or bought early, rather than exclusive. Something similar happened with Fire Emblem: Awakening in Japan. Since it's going to be charged for some people, it should also be extended story-wise, rather than be a small bit like usually. Similar DLC events could follow on that pattern.
Did it explicitly state that it was Ash's final battle? That would mean he loses against Virgil in the Top 4, which I find it odd they would reveal it's his final battle since they are spoiling the result that way.

When do you think we will be getting more news on what will happen after the Unova League is over?
So does that mean Ash & Virgil are the final two in the tournament?

This is exciting news, because January 10th could be exactly around the time of a Gen VI announcement if the Gen V announcement is anything to judge by. Going to try to not get my hopes up though. If Eevee is going to evolve, it would make sense for it to be revealed in Coro Coro first - right? Has a brand new Pokemon evolution ever been introduced in the anime first before anywhere else?
I think it's more likely that they'll either show up in the League selling hotdogs and effectively cheering for Ash like they usually do, or have a remote location cameo like Jimmy and Marina had when Vincent was in the League (again, seeing the League). It seems a bit advanced to make it seem like the plot leads anywhere at all. :p

But I guess there's still a big chance we'll see where they were or are and what they may have been up to.
