  • I remember when this first came out and it was said that he was there to investigate Plasma.

Though I agree with you it's highly unlikely Plasma will be involved this time.
Erm, well I have to take specific modules, I didn't get a choice. I'm taking Abstract Algebra, Analysis, Methods&Applications, Probability&Statistics and Programming&Discrete Mathematics! Algebra and analysis are the harder ones. What do you take?
I'm hoping that somehow, someway that they plan to release games in June from now on, so they can get them out here before the end of year. I know it's not likely, but it would be nice - or they can just translate much faster to get it out before the end of year internationally too. I never understand why it takes them so long to translate, they should be able to get it done in a month if they really work hard.

I laughed at that post, there is NO evidence that Team Plasma will be on the show so I don't understand why people are so supportive of it and I'll laugh when it doesn't happen. We should get a hint of what's to come in the anime in January once the next Coro Coro is released next month but that's still quite a while away.
Oh cool! :) Always nice to meet more people doing Maths! And it's going alright, it's a lot harder than I imagined because most of it is very abstract proofs and I was never familiar with things like that before coming here, but I guess I will have to quickly get used to it!
The responses are kinda funny, to be honest.
That's what happens when one's opinion on a matter is way too strong, but based disproportionately on their guts rather their brain. :p

I don't care too much about the anime either. Just looking at the general direction sometimes out of curiosity.
Well, I mean like Disney or Paramount -- a good enough distributor for a high-budget movie. I guess it would also be interesting if a western studio developed a Pokémon spin-off, but that's not as much needed.
By comparing other movies to the "first movie", I was mostly comparing the latter the latest ones, of course. It's the first one that is my favourite, but it's definitely followed by 2 and 3 which were also brilliant.

I wonder if TCP's focus in Japan is to blame for how they sometimes mismanage the series. Nintendo themselves are based in Japan, but I wouldn't say they are focused on it. Besides the occasional delayed (or lack of) localizations in the west -- one thing that can also be said about western (and even some rare Japanese) produced Nintendo games in Japan -- Nintendo fans are treated the same internationally. The fact that in the year 2012, the west has to wait about 4 or more months for the corresponding Japanese Pokémon releases (in games, anime and other media) is itself unacceptable. That's not the case with other Nintendo franchises -- most mid- to high-profile Nintendo games (and few are as high profile as Pokémon) launch at the same time everywhere in the world.

I think TCPi should be expanded and gain more say in the series. This way, it would be much easier to strike deals with western companies that could only affect the franchise positively.
I have a big desire to see R/S remakes, but I don't put that in the way of simple logic. Eg. those saying R/S remakes will be this gen because they have had a remake in Gen 3 and Gen 4, so they need one in Gen 5. That's such flawed logic, you could just as well say that remakes occur on each platform when it is developed such as FRLG being on GBA, HG/SS on DS and that could point to R/S remakes being on 3DS which seems much more logical. Why would they extend the DS system's life when they have had the development kit for 3 years? I just don't understand why its so hard for some people to understand. The next main game will clearly be on 3DS and everything is pointing to Gen VI coming next.

As for the anime, if Team Plasma was going to show up I'm sure it would have happened by now. Like you said, with Team Rocket having promised to be returned to the show it is clear that their role will likely be the one expanded upon after the League and it won't be in Unova. There's no need for Ash to be in Unova anymore after the league, it would be pointless.

Lol, that AgentPierce person. Even if Gen VI wasn't coming next year, it would still be well under way of being developed and would have made significant progress by now. Part of the reason I look forward to the announcement so much is so that it's possible to discuss it on forums without having people say 'its not coming next', 'R/S remakes are next' or the infamous 'theres no main game coming next year'.
It would be a dream if TPC finally decided to make a high-budget Pokémon movie. I don't really care for it to tie to any canon; in fact, anime-based movies should stop existing (or stop receiving theatrical releases), and an actually decent movie series (released every couple years or so) should start a new universe with its own rules, plots, characters and locations. Not having to be accurate to any source material (without anything saying it can't borrow elements -- like some legendary Pokémon's basic origin story) it would be an amazing break from what happens right now.

I'm thinking of something that Nintendo wouldn't have Viz distribute, but rather a respectfully big distributor, like Disney; something that wouldn't only broadcast in Japanese theaters, but have a world-wide premiere without delays between countries; something people wouldn't go to watch in order to get Arceus or whatever. Pokémon is a fairly big franchise, why can't it mature up a little?
Wow, to say Looker is "proof of Team Plasma appearing" or "Ash staying in Unova" is like saying that since Ash has a hat, that's proof that Primape will return he did appear in a recent opening though!. If anything, for Looker to appear, that must mean there's going to be some trouble. I'm thinking that he will perhaps introduce Ash & co. to the incoming upcoming region's trouble. Could it be about Team Rocket in Kanto? I guess. With Giovanni's and TRio's focus back to Kanto, no one knows what they could be up to. To be honest though, if the anime is just going to keep on as it has, I'd rather if it was a new region and a new villain... If it is the final season, they it should be in Kanto.

Recently, I realized another reason (besides the much better plot, the actual character development, the infinitely more wonderful animation...) why the first movie is so much better than the others, and especially the more recent ones: it made sense. The show actually had momentum created for it, and it tied with the episodes quite fine. It wasn't a side-story, but rather the breaking point of the season. Why haven't recent movies followed a similar direction? It seems like a logical step to follow, so, why do they degrade themselves into no more than Pokémon promoters?
It will be interesting to see what happens. Right now I'm just curious for Jump Festa and what they plan to reveal there, do you know what date it is this year? Im not going to get my hopes up since I have a feeling it'll just be another spin off game. I'm expecting the Gen VI announcement to be in January instead of December, it just seems more suitable to reveal it after the new year rather than before it (like they did with Gen V pretty much).

I don't understand why some people on other forums (I've even seen Youtube comments) are not expecting a new main game next year. They've had the 3DS development kit for practically 3 years so they should already be deep into developing the actual Gen VI games.
Hm. I guess it is possible that the Eevee could evolve after the battle, but that would be pointless as if it were to evolve it would likely be before the battle so they can show off its moves. But like you said, the anime could deviate from it since if Eevee does evolve before or in the battle then the game data of that Eeveelution wont exist in B2W2 so they would be relegated to just putting Eevee in as his Pokemon in the game.

Like we discussed before, there is also the chance Eevee could somehow be given to Ash and then he will take it with him in his journey, featuring its new evolution at a later period.
Did you see Pokédex for iOS? I really hope for an Android version, although I'm not sure about it. From the look of it, they seem to focus very much on the fact that it's headed on Apple platforms... :-/
I'm not entirely sure if we're going to see a new Eeveelution that soon. It would be neat, but I'd say it's more likely that it will come along with some potential new type announcements (if any). A game announcement is gonna bomb without much spice, so, they will be holding new types as another bomb for another month. :p Perhaps Virgil will return on the anime-only season.

I think it's pretty nice that anime characters appear in the World Tournament. That's a tradition with long history in several forms. Incidentally, what do you make of this? I always thought the NPC cameos were sort of like those Trainers' counterparts in the game world. But then, direct appearances started coming, like Goone's Scizor and Ash's Pikachu -- and especially for the latter, we already have its counterpart in the game world. I guess I'd go by thinking counterparts are limited to stuff that actually appear in the game, while DLC is more like what-if bonuses -- and that applies to the incoming anime characters too.

I guess it may be more realistic to expect ports after the first 3DS game. Maybe they save it for a year without another release? I don't think it would be such a big deal, although no doubt, hundred thousands of fans (perhaps even more than a million? I'm not sure if any downloadable Nintendo game has ever reached that number) would buy it, considering the price would be relatively low, and that might be a good enough reason not to put it before an important release.
Of course it was misguided. No doubt that was a result of Ghetsis's influence. I wonder if N really didn't start having doubts about separating people and Pokemon until he met Hilbert/Hilda. Was he really okay with eventually not being able to interact with Pokemon anymore? Did he even think about what would happen after he succeeded in becoming Champion and ordering every trainer to release their Pokemon? (Other than the result of Pokemon supposedly "becoming perfect beings.") I suppose Ghetsis's brainwashing would've had to have been quite effective, but I still have doubts.
I always thought N might have been allowed to bring Darminatan and/or Zorua with him to the castle. I guess it's not surprising, since he was willing to part with the many Pokemon he encountered in B/W. As for N's Zoroark, my best guess is that it was the Zorua that raised him, which eventually evolved into Zoroark. But I'm not sure where the B2/W2 Zorua comes from...maybe it's the offspring of N's Zoroark?
I guess it depends on how far back N's memories go. He may not actually remember being abandoned, since he was pretty young at the time. It might be that he knows he was abandoned only because Ghetsis told him. I have a theory that his parents may have abandoned him in that forest to protect him from something or someone...maybe they knew Ghetsis was looking for the ancient king's descendant, assuming N is that descendant. I'm not sure how plausible this theory would be, though.
I wonder how Ghetsis learned who the ancient king's descendant was, or how he even found N in the first place. Ghetsis could've had an interesting backstory, but instead they just turned him into another cardboard villain for B2/W2. We'll probably never know what his motivations were.
Yeah, I've been thinking about that, and it doesn't really add up. I don't get why his parents would abandon him just because of his ability to talk to Pokemon. Is it really upsetting enough to warrant abandoning a child? Of course, this is probably because Gamefreak didn't really think this through, like so many other things in B2/W2. But who did Concordia hear this from? If she heard it from Ghetsis, then I don't think he's exactly a reliable source. How would Ghetsis even know the circumstances of N's abandonment? It could've just been more lies from him to keep the masquerade going.

If the Abyssal Ruins are only connected to N, then why were they built? Were they only built for the king the prophecy speaks of? And what about that deleted location in B2/W2 that's supposedly the grave of an ancient king?
