  • While I'd like to see them get their old personalities back, I think that would be a bad idea and kind of be character regression for them... well, not like BW seems to care about it so much, and not like their initial change made any sense... but I think I'd rather them written out somehow instead of revert back to their original self
I hope that at least by gen 6 they'd be gone... the fact lots of BW eps don't even have them in (or just show them for a few seconds doing something "cool" or whatever) kind of proves the show can easily survive without them, maybe with more focus on the new evil team to make up for how they gave up on Plasma
After the recent tournament, I'm not sure how much they care to make things "interesting and believeable", but yeah...
I also wonder what will be up with the TRio in the upcoming Meloetta eps... I wish this could be some conclusion for them cause the way they are in BW - I'd prefer them to be gone... at least Meloetta will probably be gone after that, finally... it got really boring with just being there and singing every time to calm down the other Pokémon
ok then, so either you're right and we'll see a new Eeveelution, or they'll go for the "it doesn't have to evolve to be strong" thing... I do hope for a new Eeveelution - I really love the current ones and I'm sure I'll feel the same about new ones if they'll make them
Oh, of course Eevee won't evolve to a Poké he already owns - I just suggested the idea that maybe he'd have a team of Eevee + 5 of the 7 evolutions, with Eevee evolving to one of the missing two
Unless we already know he actually owns all 7... I admit I didn't follow the news much lately, so I'm not sure exactly how much is known currently
Anyway, I like the idea of it evolving into a new Poké - it'd be way more interesting and would explain their sudden interest to make an Eevee trainer (well, other than Eevee being a popular old gen Poké like Riolu and Dragonite)
I'm also annoyed that apparently Iris will battle Drayden using Excadrill and... Dragonite...... like, what was the point of Axew? to be a hair accessory?
I'm not even sure of anything anymore, with how bad BW was so far, I wouldn't be surprised if somehow Scott was right and Ash will somehow win... I still doubt it though and hope it won't happen...
I like the idea of Eeveelutions trainer - actually surprising it didn't happen till now... I didn't think of Eevee evolving into a new Poké, but I guess that's possible
I wonder though who of the Eeveelutions will be left out, assuming he'd have a team of 6... we recently saw Glaceon (though it was really short moment) so I guess they could just ignore it... though they'd need to give up on another Eeveelution (unless Eevee itself ends up evolving into one of the old evolutons)
I am curious, though I can't honestly say I care too much... the BW series was just disappointing and continues to disappoint... (I did like Kotetsu, though - wish he could be Ash's main rival from the beginning instead of Trip)
They also seem to take their time with the League... I thought it'd probably start during October... but now we have titles up to mid November and it still doesn't start... the more they delay it, the less time they'll have for post-League eps before next gen comes out
I can only hope gen 6's anime will be better than that and hopefully closer to how DP was...
So yeah, I posted to the Overhaul Thread regarding the Light-type, and nice to see that someone responded to my post. He indeed does have points, but you can reply to him if you want to explain our side more further (since I'm not really good at that XD).
I wouldn't get a 3DS just for it either, even though I really do enjoy the PMD games. But I already have a 3DS, so I'll definitely be getting it. The 3DS I admit has been quite disappointing, as its been on the market for 2 years and it still doesn't have the most impressive portfolio of games. There are some really good ones, but the majority are just lame.

I hope a proper 3DS type of emulation is out sometime in 2013, otherwise it seems we'll have to wait until international release to be able to play the Gen VI games. Although, if its just four months like it was with B2W2, then I could wait. I'm just eager to see how the Gen VI games look on the 3DS.
Anyway, nice to see that some of the members here agree to our ideas.

Lol, those fanmade Eeveelutions doesn't have that "Eevee" feeling to me. XD
Dragon and Steel Eeveelutions really doesn't make sense IMO. I hope Game Freak won't take this direction and go for the Luxeon idea. Since they'll be using Eevee if, ever, they'll be promoting Generation VI, then use Eevee on introducing the newest type since Dark and Steel-types as well.

I really hope Virgil's Eevee will evolve into a Light-type evolution, all the attributes are already there. It's a supporting Pokemon, and has supporting moves, they shouldn't waste this opportunity.
Lol, the lack on any interesting Pokemon news really makes me bore. XD

Anyway, assuming that Game Freak will really introduce new Eevee evolutions in Generation VI, would the amount be 2 Eeveelutions, or only 1 (possibly Luxeon)? I'm hoping it's the latter though.
I would love if it's the announcement of Gen VI. But part of me just doesn't feel like it'll happen yet, but you are right about how Gen V was announced only four months after HGSS so its very possible. If its going to be something big he will likely post about it on his blog and tweet about a 'special announcement' for that episode a few days before it. Lets hope.

An eShop release of the older games would be fantastic. They would sell very well, and I see no reason for them not to do it sometime soon. I thought they would have released at least one pair of games on the eShop by now.

I'm not sure if I'm going to buy B2W2. I guess I probably will, considering I do have all of the Pokemon games and don't want my collection to go incomplete so I'll just wait for the Christmas sales to start so I'll get it extra cheap. Are you going to buy the new Mystery Dungeon? It looks fantastic, I've always loved the MD games. Do you know how long they usually take to be localized?
Masuda is going to be on Smash next month. On the 13th of September, on Twitter he said "Good morning, everyone! ! Is in attendance now! Pokemon Smash I recorded yesterday! It seems to be broadcast in October!". Doubt its about a new game already, but I wonder what it could be? It seems that they quickly drained out the events for B2W2 so I don't see it being that. Watch it just be some lame thing like when he appeared on Smash once just to reveal a Mewtwo WIFI event.

I just want to get past B2W2. I haven't picked up the game since I finished the main story. I played in the World Tournament and post-game for about 2 days but that's it.
Sucks that Dragon Village isn't in another region... Actually, are we sure about that? Anime does some crazy things like going far off the map for a little while and returning afterwards, so, it's not impossible that it's a bit out of Unova (Opelucid is pretty close to the egde, after all). Anyway, I'm not sure if I want to see World Tournament or another region. Both have plus sides... Seeing old characters would be great, but I'd also like to see something like the Orange Islands. Perhaps both?

Nice to see Spiky-ear Pichu too! At least she appears in the anime, so, she's not completely forgotten. Wonder if she'll ever be available in the games too again though...
I've no idea what "obvious for new players" means. In fact, HGSS are quite more accessible, and I'd say enjoyable for new players than any other of the DS games. By the way, I think he was referring to Black 3 and White 3, although in a way he disconfirmed them (if anything), so, it's no worrying matter. I imagine it might be worthwhile to return to areas near Unova (or even Unova after time has passed) in the future. But surely, most people must feel full of them for now.

Regarding the story, Matsumiya is the plot writer of B2W2 as well, isn't he? I'd say that Pokémon has always been consistent (or at least prudent) with continuity. Though I personally found some of the more recent stories a little diverged from Tajiri's original style (though at least not too damaging to his original vision), I think that at least Matsumiya has been careful. The fanservice has always been there, and it's neat. Hopefully, they will be able to express that attitude that even further with the next games. I gotta agree that they shouldn't been like BW either Pokémon-wise or story-wise. BW were a satisfying experience, but I miss old characters, locations and references. I also think they have to do a quality check with Pokémon. Generation V is quite good, but there are still critters (in III, IV and V) that haven't been exposed too much yet. They shouldn't introduce too many Pokémon, and they should try to expand each existing Pokémon's individuality this time around. Generation I and II games were so good at that.
As for the MMO comment... First of all, I'm surprised (but glad) he hasn't noticed how many requests have been for an MMO. Even today, you'll see the usual "MMO, all regions, make your own gym" argument in even the most hardcore forums. Frankly though, even if he's right about face-to-face communication being very neat, let's be practical: in today's life that's impossible. It might have been possible when we were in school, but things are much more busy now in university, let alone when we'll have our own jobs. I do enjoy meet-ups with friends, but that's a very infrequent occasion -- a much harder to find opportunity than the couple hours I might be able to steal in a weekend and play some competitive battling or fill my Pokédex. I think that online communication should have exactly the same features as local ones. In fact, I'd say that because it's so hard to achieve the face-to-face feeling online, they should aspire to simulate it as well as they can. We have cameras, microphones, high-speed connections and all kind of things. Stop with the excuses, Game Freak.

I also miss Tajiri... It's not that I dislike Masuda (his music is ace, after all), but I feel that he plays very safe. Perhaps he's a better person for confidence in sales, but it can't always be about sales, can it? How much I'd like if Tajiri could be involved in a future game... Perhaps they could even have Masuda co-direct, so, that there is a balance. It's really a wonder though. It's been more than ten years... Hasn't Tajiri wanted to do something other than being the president of Game Freak? What does he even do as the president anyway? It's mostly TPC and Ishihara that takes care of Pokémon as a brand. I wonder if Tajiri wants to be involved in the development.
It's not so much for what he says as it is for the way he says it.

Surely, Game Freak is working on the next iteration of the series on 3DS, and that is going to be revealed sooner or later. Had it been a BW interview, I could understand his reluctant attitude (considering the next game, B2W2, would still be 2D). But the project surely must have progressed quite a bit by now. Elements such as the player's movement being free or limited to the X/Y axis have obviously been decided, and one would guess Game Freak has now translated the game's traditional 2D world into 3D well enough by now. Shouldn't he be a bit more enthousiastic about something he will eventually have to convince the fans is nice?

That's not to say he shuts out any possibility, but still, one might think; he's either very good at keeping secrets (which has been true enough in previous cases) or he simply wasn't joking about how much he likes 2D art. I'll give him the benefit of doubt for now, partly because I've found myself agreeing with the design decisions graphics/perspective/movement-wise so far. I think that more important than the ability of 3DS to render high quality 3D graphics is the fact that we now have the circle pad. It would be a real pain to play a game like Pokémon with the circle pad. (I guess I will find that out soon enough with B2W2, though). Incidentally, it's a wonder how well it works with games that have a slight overhead view. It's as if it's made for these games, since it feels very much like moving the character forward (since you do push the pad forward, instead of changing the angle of an analog stick).
Continue to put a premium into continuity? I'd like to think they'd give more effort given they apparently did not think of what to do in BW2 until after BW was complete.
What I mean about "Legacy NPC" is that he will be talk about by random NPCs regarding their doings on the previous games, hence, they made a legacy. N's quote really made me hope that they will bring back the walking Pokemon feature.
