  • Yes, that's where that "Did their dream come true... And will we ever meet again..." quote came from. Serebii mistook it as being at N's Castle when I told him I found the N rematches there not long afterwards.
Yeah, I heard about that. Sometimes I wonder if the third versions would've turned out better than these sequels. Maybe there would've been less holes in the story...I don't know. At least we would've gotten to play as Hilbert/Hilda again.
I wish they'd move away from handling the player characters like this. It just doesn't work when you start dealing with more developed plots and characters.
When you mentioned Sinjoh Ruins in your thread, I didn't know that they were referencing a whole other region. (I figured the word "Sinjoh" was akin to Tohjo) Do you have any past blogs that you typed up on it, I think that I would like to read any theories about a region like that please.

I also think that if we do visit Iris's hometown in the games in the future, it should be in the same region to tie up all lose ends at once. The Abyssal Ruins and the Ruins of the Alph could have some connection, though I dunno much on this since Abyssal really doesn't use the same symbols, so any ties between the people that made them would probably be loose. The theme of the region overall though could just incorporate separate myths.

His dialogue makes no indication of that: "Did their dream come true... And will we ever meet again... I will set out on a journey again." It certainly doesn't seem that he's left Unova since he released his dragon.

You know, I don't think this necessarily means he didn't go out already, but simply didn't find them when he did. Though, at the same time its not like N has any affordable means of transport after giving up his dragon.

What's interesting though is Serebii claims N has incredibly high AI even outside of Challenge Mode. I'm not sure if this would play onto his whole "genius" thing going on, but in terms of levels, he's certainly not the strongest. On the plus side, this does mean that Game Freak finally acknowledges that challenges are not simply level ups. Though you could say that's already evident with Challenge Mode, I'd say its good Game Freak is applying it to trainers within a single mode (other than select trainer classes) to actually differentiate talent (high AI) and experience (high levels)
You know, I just had a depressing thought about why Hilbert/Hilda never appeared in the sequels. I'm guessing if we were to ask Gamefreak why they didn't show up, they'd give us some canned response about how the player character is a representation of us, the ones playing the games, and that it's up to us what happens to them. This is probably why we never hear anything else about any of the player characters (except for Red). Because they'll never be allowed to be their own characters. Therefore, we'll probably never get any closure on N and Hilbert/Hilda's story, despite how developed it was in B/W.
Yeah, that seems to be a mess, too. I doubt they're going to bother clarifying anything, either. They made everything so convoluted with these sequels. I just hope this generation will be over soon.
Yes. It turned out to be a poetic way of saying [The Location of] 'Unova's Strongest' and is used as a description for the Black Skyscraper/White Hollowed Tree.
The feelings are the feelings of the Pokemon. Perhaps rewording it to 'And have their feelings conveyed to those who are their Trainers...' is better.
Okay, that sounds a little better. Like I said in the Character Discussion thread, I'll just chalk it up to Gameplay and Story Segregation. I wouldn't be surprised if a rematch with N was in high demand by the fans, given his abrupt departure in B/W.

I still don't like that Hilbert/Hilda already left to go look for him, and yet N ended up coming back to Unova. Where is Gamefreak going with this?
Nope. That's a quote which Serebii mistook when I mentioned it to him.
    "Did their dream come true...
And will we ever meet again..."

"I will set out on a journey again.
In this world there are many Pokemon that should be talked to.
And there are trainers which should have their feelings conveyed to..."
What? No! I didn't know he stayed there after you get all his Pokemon! Oh no, this so horrible. I can't believe this. I cannot believe he would just give up on finding Hilbert/Hilda.

Gamefreak has seriously messed up. The only thing I can do is hope that most of the post-game is non-canon again.
It seems to me that Kyurem had fallen down to earth, but originally had split. The two brothers had been there from the start, but only have created civilization 2500 years ago. The king came along to find a ruined land, and sought to seek out a solution. His first step was likely to stop the brothers then Kyurem. Seeing that Kyurem was too powerful with the original dragon reborn he likely split the dragon again, and the original seal of the 2 dragons was created in DST. The abyssal ruins likely mention only the 2 dragons as its his wish to see Kyurem's true power relinquished only to he who can stop it, N in other words. It makes sense if you interpert some parts other then you should, and I'm likely wrong on this, but who knows. The OD is something they want to see at some point, as evident by even the dex entries.
I'd like to think Game Freak is more competent and creative than some users on these forums and would actually realize how Virtual Console solves these problems. Oh well, at least what Game Freak lacks in good story-telling they seem to be making up with in game connectivity features.

Having those Virtual Console games affect the Dream Radar would actually be a much better solution than Pal Parking if they find it too difficult to work that out. Personally, I was thinking that Game Freak re-releases Yellow and Crystal, but modifying the available Pokemon so that all version exclusives are found in that single game, while releasing RSE as three separate VC games upgraded with wireless (and maybe wifi) connectivity, and the ability to transfer to new games with a Pal Park-like device. The only real barrier with Gen III games anyway is hardware since the Pokemon haven't really changed between Gen III-->V.
Sure seems like N is the kings descendant, huh? Always thought he was, and the new Abyssal Ruins text seems to seal it for me. Hope to god the character info they have in the guidebooks give us some insight to where they're going with this. Would also be interesting if they go through with expanding Unova throughout the next couple of gens, sorta have it as a basis of all Mythos and tie everything together eventually.
Friends, in the way that it's said, is used by N to refer to Pokemon. Whether he's found them or not, who knows.

And he doesn't mention coming back, either time.
