  • Judging by the video preview, it seems Smash is having a big information blowout next week after th egames are released (which is expected anyway, since it'll be after people have it). But I can't help but think it would have been nice if they did it on this most recent episode instead.

It seems we may not get a new animated trailer, which is disappointing. Unless their plan is to continue heavily marketing the game after release, of course. I'm excited that people from 2ch will have the game on Wednesday and will be posting pictures of their play through the game. Even if a ROM leaks that day I have a feeling that GF would have come up with a new Anti-Piracy method for the games which will result in us having to wait for a patch to play it properly.
Because I've noticed that they add two new Pokemon characters for each title. SSB64 had Pikachu and Jigglypuff, Melee had Mewtwo and Pichu, and Brawl had Red and Lucario, so it makes sense that two new reps will be included in the Wii U title (not sure about the 3DS title though because that wasn't what I've expected). Of course, if Sakurai decides to have the second new character to represent Gen 6, then chances are that he may use White 2/Sparkling/Leia/Usagi with Snivy, Dewott, and Emboar as the first new character to represent both BW titles and a female trainer to co-exist with Red (the Smash Bros. series is in need of more female fighters).
But Red was the closest thing to being Ash because anime only characters are forbidden in SSB, and he was used to represent Gen III with his FR/LG outfit. And since we may be getting two new Pokemon characters to represent BW1 and BW2 respectively, I'm assuming that they'll use a Unova rep for BW1 (candidates are Zoroark, Krokorok, Iris & Axew, and Scraggy/Scrafty), while they use an older gen character for BW2 (Meowth is a more likely candidate because judging by the roster in Melee and Brawl, only one rep is from a current gen while the rest are Kanto reps).
Is it also a bad idea to use the anime to base your analysis on which new Pokemon reps will be included in the next Smash Bros. title?
He mentions about patterns he's seen in character cameos, Ash's placement in the Pokemon League, and how Team Rocket is handled in BW. That's what I mean that he captured the writers' mindset.
But he seems to have captured the writers' mindset, though I tend to hope his predictions are wrong deep down because it seems like there's some sort of bias that's holding him.
I honestly hope the choice of using Close Combat is simply a poor choice of moves rather than indicative of anything.

While I'm not disagreeing that Resolution form is indeed unwarranted given that the same character development can occur without it, I still don't think its as bad as people make it. Unless of course, you're forced to know a special move to become a physical type and know a physical move to become a special type. It's basically Meloetta except worse.
    ----------
I'm just tired of seeing people arrogantly pretend that they know what the writers want to do. I think the anime is pretty unpredictable at this point and I'd like to see what is going to happen after the Unova League.
    ----------
Judging from your VM, I have to disagree because Gliscor'd seem to hit the nail on what's going to happen with his predictions and should never be question regardless if you disagree with him.
Well, we don't know what happens after the first confrontation between N and Ghetsis, besides the forgone conclusion of Kyurem absorbing Zekrom/Reshiram's energy and changing formes. It's very possible that N won't be able to defeat Ghetsis the first time. But what will Ghetsis do upon defeating N? Is Ghetsis actually considering taking N as his prisoner?

There's also the fact that there's been absolutely no mention of Hilbert/Hilda yet. Since their dragon is inevitably involved, as well, it's possible they could share N's fate. Besides being taken prisoner by Neo Plasma, I'm not sure how else N and Hilbert/Hilda's absence on the boat could be explained.
I guess I shouldn't be surprised about N returning to Unova, since Ghetsis most likely convinced Kyurem to lure him and Zekrom there. It's a shame the cave isn't in the new region. I'm hoping that N will take an active role in the story and end up traveling between the two regions at some point with the player character, instead of just sitting by idly in Unova and letting the player character do all the work.
Oh, right I wanted to mention this before!
Bothered? Honestly, I don't even feel neutral about this. I'm remarkably happy! :p

It's as much of a Keldeo evolution as it can be, considering that the Pokémon has to reach Level 43 in order to turn into its Resolute Forme. I guess I'm okay that it's still on the same Pokédex number, since I don't mind the Pokémon still being called Keldeo.

Why are you annoyed by this? Sure, it's a bit of a retcon (although there may be another trigger to cause the forme change), but don't you agree that this is an unusual forme? With Giratina or Deoxys, it's more of a "change" between equal forms useful in different situations. The same applies for I think every other forme, besides Kyurem. Obviously, Rotom is also a bit special, but it's still on the "useful in different situations" range (the original form just utilizes different staff each time, anyway). As for Kyurem, I guess you could say it does become more powerful, but how that happens will be explained in the game's context, of course (and I suspect B/W Kyurem will be equal to Reshiram and Zekrom; the more "powerless" Kyurem has a special trick that equalizes it with its counterparts).

It's only in Keldeo that once it changes its forme it clearly becomes superior (at least mythologically; reflecting its growing up training away from its companions). So, I think it's fitting that the trigger to that is pretty tight. Well, now that I'm thinking about it, it's not a given that its stats will change (580 -> 600), but it certainly will need more Attack than Special Attack, or else Sacred Sword is pretty useless.
I guess, although that seems like a long shot when you plan to play the game on launch. :p
That is, unless the feature is unlockable through Wi-Fi, in which case we'll may be able to communicate with someone from Japan...
Interesting... So, in the end, it seems like there will be some sort of interaction between the two games' worlds. I wonder how much of a story will be on that. The feature itself sounds very good, although I'm a bit disappointed that I will have to play (and buy) the game for a second time in order to use it. I'd much rather play the "hard mode" at once; after all, most only get one version, and even in another case, their first version is the "main" one -- why play the superior version of the game on their secondary cartridge? I wonder if this isn't exactly what will happen. Isn't it possible that he could also be referring to interaction between Black 1/White 1 and Black 2/White 2? The Lock Capsule also came to mind, although it seems highly unlikely he refers to that.

I remember that it was once said that BW were so linear map-wise in order to help children finish the games without trouble. B2W2 Unova seems fairly more complicated, since you start from a pretty random point, and there are some branches along the road. This probably isn't related to this, of course, but it's good that there is some escalation in difficulty between BW and B2W2.
Of course. I think that's inevitable, after all.
I had known for Sinjoh in HGSS too (from the thread about a "hinted new region in HGSS", or something), although I avoided spoilers back then as well.
For this reason alone, maybe you should also try keeping yourself from spoilers. It builds character! :p

To be absolutely honest though, it's not a torture for me at all. I don't find it all that exciting to just learn about the story, since it seems a bit pointless to do so without experiencing it myself. You may have noticed that I'm a bit assertive about how I like it when it's clearly stated that at least part of the adventure and its elements is meant for the player instead of the character (which is why I have mixed feeling for when things like starters, etc. get set in stone). I do like to learn the main story as well, of course, but I just feel that my experience is partly ruined when I know what to expect.

I guess it's a bit weird, but I wouldn't enjoy the series so much otherwise. :p
Thinking about it, Mewtwo was actually relevant until only... a couple weeks ago. The distributions were so split that it stretched this much. What can I say? With the World Tournament, the 15th Anniversary not having been celebrated properly (but still having elements, like newly revised versions of old episodes, a kind of poor site with references and such), it might not be too far fetched.
I just did a quick catching up. So, the second guide will really be about the post game adventure!... Obviously, the characters section will take up some space (that's also interesting), but we can assume that most of the guide will be filled with story details, because how much can characters take up? Frankly, I'm quite surprised. From one hand, my hopes for a second region have gone to a very low point after so much time, but at the same time I can't imagine just how much of post-game content could fit in Unova.

I find the Genesect storyline theory very believable, although that would take the last event Pokémon (or would it?). I'm not sure if Genesect will have a post-League role as central as Kyurem's pre-League, but there has to be some sort of legend for post-League; and with the Prankster Trio reserved for the Dream Radar, the Keldeo (and musketeers?) event known, the Meloetta Face Mission, and the Tao Trio on the central role, what else?
Oh, that's right, this is a possibility. There is some ressemblance though -- Hilda has her hair tied (in contrast to White2), and this character also appears to. But yeah, I guess it is a long shot, since it seems unlikely they would remove her cap.

As for Genesect, indeed. I guess there's no ray of doubt that Generation VI is coming next year, now. I also wonder if Masuda will actually reveal Genesect in Smash, but probably not. Would be a bit lame to reveal it before M15.

Is it possible that the reason they haven't created so much hype about B2W2 is because they will soon announce the next real iterations of the series? The coverage is unprecedentedly moderate, and that's not to say there isn't content to cover, considering we don't even know the basics of the game's story and we've seen screenshots that can't be explained. I wonder how the games will go sales-wise. Maybe they target more to the core fans than the casual ones, since they don't want them to feel fed up when the new games will be coming.
Definitely. I'm glad that Fes Mission is online, as I was annoyed that it might involve only having to connect with someone else who physically has the game near you. Also, the fact there are over 200 medals.. do you think that is any sort of relevance to a new region, or do you think that 200 being obtainable in Unova alone is plausible?
