  • Indeed, though open-ended, this would still be a misleading description if it ends up a Normal-type! Now, just what could it end up being. I think the colouring shuts out possibilities for currently known types (except for Poison... LOL :p). If not Normal-type, which would be disappointing on itself, there's no way this does not introduce a new type. Of course a new type can end up disappointing on itself... Can you imagine Fairy-type? I don't know what I would think of this.
And its Sylveon! And Feelaria in German. I swear to god if its bug type, or even a feel type GF has completely lost it.
Well, the two words are related. The word of origin is clearly Sylph, but they probably used Sylv- / Sylvan because it sounded better (and is not completely unrelated). I'm not saying that it's Flying-type, of course, nor that there is going to be a Wind- / Air-type. It's Sylph from its relation to the Nymph, rather than the element of air.
Each move has a different sound effect. Maybe the Pokémon chosen in the footage aren't randomly chosen though. Who knows...
Is that implied by the animation? Trump Card is notably a move few Pokémon other than Eevee learn, and it learns it in a high level too. It's a little suspicious they would showcase it along with another Normal-type move...
It is a bit abstract in context. The modern Greek word for 'bride' is 'νύφη', which is derived from 'νύμφη', which is basically nymph; I believe 'bride' is directly 'nymph' in Ancient Greek. So, in a sense, it can be used to characterize any beautiful female -- and especially an ornated one, considering brides. I don't think the etymology really goes far from the design, even if perhaps its roots are a bit more unusual. I'd say Booster is much less obvious -- even Showers is an arguably big generalization in that it is related to Water, but not really Vaporeon's design directly.

I guess you're right about metaphysics, and thinking about it, even its etymology implies that it is "what is behind physics", in a sense. But let's agree that Nymphia doesn't even imply something like this, besides the incredibly pushed assumption that the bow represents the symbol of infinity. Unown being the most prevalent (or even the only) representation of metaphysics in the series goes without saying, I think. Let's just say that ???-type, arguably Unown's proper type, is supposed to represent Metaphysics, because I doubt they would make a regular type based on such an abstract concept.
Metaphysics is (almost) a synonym to Supernatural (or perhaps contained, along with Physics, in the superset that is Supernatural if we get semantic about it), as far as I know. I'd argue this is at least partially contained in Ghost (undead, out-of-world beings), Phychic (beings with special powers) and Dark (nightly beings). There are other things in Metaphysics, like things related to cosmology, but a Cosmic-type is a much more proper subtraction for that.

How does it not look like a nymph, at least comparatively? Are you saying it has more metaphysic elements than it has... girly ones? Also, that is still based on the assumption that the bow represents infinity which, frankly, I doubt is intended.
I actually thought of that at some point... I dubbed it 'Abnormal-type' in my mind, and it was a result of the cheeky CoroCoro comment ("is it the same type [as Eevee]?") and the possibility of Xerneas and Yveltal sharing this type. Regardless, it's not really that out-of-world-ish... Besides its eyes, which do seem a bit alien, it's rather usual, if only a bit overdesigned. Plus; Metaphysical still fits Ghost, Psychic and Dark a bit though, so, I'm not sure.
It does look like Fire a bit, but that's not saying much. For all we know, it could be using Metronome (with the whole Nymph / Fairy thing) or Hidden Power, or something. I don't think there is a ray of doubt that it is not a Fire-type, that would be ridiculous -- but perhaps there is some Fire-type move it can learn, much like Vaporeon can use Ice-type moves in spite of Glaceon. But, again, it doesn't have to necessarily be a Fire-type move. Maybe they are magic flames.

Also, Magic-type... Surprisingly, this hasn't crossed my mind until now, but it would be a bad idea, as Magic (per se) is clearly represented by Psychic (and Dark, to an extend). Speaking of which, besides Light Screen and the whole Espeon / Cresselia thing, there is also another argument for the Light - Psychic association; Recover. Although there are others, it is the traditional HP-recovering move, á la Cure in RPGs -- a classic White Magic move. Of course, it has elements scattered in other types as well, mainly Normal-type, with Pokémon like Togepi and Chancey. So, I'm not saying that "Psychic-type is Light-type", but that it's currently (partially) represented through it. That could change any day, obviously.

What does Infineon say about the type though?
Oh, I didn't mean that they will leave Kanto after the movie, but that it's possible that the movie itself might be back to Unova. Perhaps after the movie a new arc (that's a new trend, isn't it?) will start in Kanto, unrelated to Mewtwo and Genesect.
Indeed. The design is why I'm leaning towards Ninon however, as the idea of silk ribbons makes more sense.
There's nothing in Unova after Episode N. I mean, it's impossible to push it further; even if they don't return to Kanto, they have to move to a different region. That said, I do think Kanto is the most possible of all. Here is a theory: Ash returns to Kanto, and during the months between then and the film debut he is looking for Mewtwo so that he can take it to Unova, where the Genesect army is. Or perhaps not exactly looking for it, but leading to their meeting and an eventual briefing about the Genesect situation. Hence, a three (I think?) months arc in Kanto, and the Genesect climax (the movie, in other words) back in Unova. I wouldn't mind that -- for a Gen I and Gen V clash, it would actually be fitting if the movie had both Kanto (where it would start) and Unova elements.

I'm not sure if Aura is the correct term for the "Light-type" you had suggested. I think Aura is kind of adapted to the Fighting-type, and rightfully so, if you consider the appearances of Aura-related concepts in popular culture these days. Also, the Fighting-type on its own is a bit short.

I think the term you're looking for might be Radiant or Vivid, but especially the former would be too complicated for 12-year olds.
As much as I like aura, I'd much rather it remain the "spiritual" aspect of Fighting types rather than its own unique type.

Honestly, I can't really speculate much on Mewtwo's role, but its focus certainly makes me think that the new Eeveelution is tied to genetics.
