There are also three stages of maturity for Pikmin: Leaf, Bud, and Flower. As they mature, they get faster and stronger. Flower Pikmin also have a chance of leaving behind new Pikmin if they die.
ANYWAYS. Let me explain what the colors of Pikmin there are.
Red: Invincible to fire, and stronger than Yellows or Blues.
Yellow: Invincible to electricity, and can be thrown higher than other colors. In the first game, they could carry bomb rocks.
Blue: Can go in water without drowning. Can also save other colors if they happen to fall in.
Purple: Are even stronger than Reds(1 Purple can carry an object that would require 10 Pikmin), plus they stun enemies when thrown, but are slower than the other colors.
White: Invincible to poison gas, and an enemy that eats a White gets poisoned(AKA takes a good amount of damage). They are the fastest of all the colours.
