  • [The assignment in question was for Matt to kill a Steelix gjinka that had embezzled the assignment's sender, thus causing him to lose his house and job.]

Lien: Thank you very much, Chimera.

After escorting her to some more confortable accomodations, they thought about their next plan of action against the TD.

    =3
[They were going to pay her about 2,000-3,000 USD. The rest of her payment was in the shapeshifting abilities they gave her. That's still more than most people earn in a couple weeks.]

Chimera: That sounds great. I hate them anyway.
Matt: That's good. I'll pass on one of my assignments. I don't know what the hell they were thinking, but I'm at a huge type disadvantage with my target. I'll get smashed in an instant. *sets the assignment's envelope on the table in front of her*

Lien: And... in addition to a few other assignments... we'll waive all charges against you and reward you with twice the ammount the Terran Dominion was going to pay you.

[How much was the TD going to pay her for successfully picking Vitya out? I just need an estimate. If it's somethig outrageous, like the equivalent of millions of USD, they might have some issues paying her.]
Chimera: Yes. People tend to get rather pissed off when they're electrocuted, bound, and thrown in a cell.

    [She's being a bit of a smartass.]
    Lien: I see...

Earlier, you seemed to be quite angry at the guards. Was it because you were angry that you were captured and imprisoned?
Chimera: Hell if I know. The TD just paid me to impersonate the kid and told me to go kill that Kunstler guy. I'm a free-roaming mercenary. I'm doing this to kill people and to earn a living. I could care less as to what they would do with him, so I never asked and they never told me.

[Keyword: Mercenary. They could actually pay/convince her to turn against the TD and work for them instead.]
Guard 1: Nothing we can do about it.

Both: *lock her bracelets together, then lead her to the room*

    ---

    Lien: ^^ *waiting patiently*

Akura: Matt, want to stay with Lien? I need to get back to work.

    Lien: I'll be fine. ^^

Matt: Eh, sure. I have nothing better to do, anyways. w
[They'll probably have to wrestle her down. And the guards are female, by the way.]

Guard 2: Understand that you're going to speak to Lady Khang no matter what.

[In many Asian countries, married women keep their maiden names. That's Lien's maiden name and what she goes by in war situations to prevent confusion with her husbad.]
