Yeah, it happens often here too. It is America, after all - the amount of cautious and patient drivers is unfortunately limited. But the gate also breaks down randomly too. It's just that old and terrible.

Not "how long," but "how many times" is a more appropriate question. It breaks about once or twice a month. Then it gets "fixed". But it's always breaking down, and the community's owner's too cheap to buy a new one, so they just keep "fixing" it. I swear, it annoys the hell out of every resident here. :-/
Yeah, it really is. :sweat: We're one of the few gated communities in my area without a gate house or guard, actually. I think the only reason the people who own the neighborhood keep it in the first place is to suck up more money from the residents to keep the gate "operating". :-/
