Your Unpopular Video Game Opinions

Based on what little I heard, I actually don't think the voice actors/acting in the Secret of Mana remake is/are bad. Too bad 99% of fans are claiming the voices are bad or not necessary just from a few videos and voice clips alone.

I don't normally post in these kinds of thread, To be honest, but I have to now because...

I seem to be in the minority when it comes to Mass Effect Andromeda. I keep hearing people say it was a bad game, that it was buggy, that it had bad writing...

And honestly, I found it to be a VERY fun game, I only encountered one bug... a loading screen bug that required me to use a previous autosave to get out of, and I've only encountered one piece of dialogue in the game that gave me pause ("My face is tired".... Really?)

I'm really hoping that we get a Mass Effect Andromeda Two, but all I see whenever I mention that is hate for the idea... and it honestly is really upsetting.

According to Origin, I've played more MEA than I did ME3 but not as much as ME2.

Well, to be fair the bugs and other stuff was apparently fixed in patches but it was too late for most of the fandom.

I think the majority of those bugs were on console. I've seen footage from the PS4 version of the game that makes it look like a really buggy experience...

Yet as a PC player, I experienced none of that. Not sure if they fixed the bugs after the console games shipped to retailers (Since Origin doesn't have to have the games printed and shipped.)

But I have also seen people complain about boring characters, and bad writing... and I'm just not seeing it.

I like FE2 Gaiden and Nintendo should still make more 3ds remakes.

It seems kinda hypocritical to defend Switch ports with the statement that they take less resources than get mad that at every individual game that comes out on system that intrinsically takes less resources.

People say well the appeal is all the games are on one system and I say a lot of handheld developers and 3ds fans didn't agree to having that appeal so keeping the 3ds slightly alive until the Lite Switch/Switch mini comes out isn't too much to ask for.

It certainly doesn't help that the switch's battery life is directly equivalent to the edibility of an unripe fruit making it a terrible hand held (seriously, if your going to make a hybrid console, include a charger with it. Or at least increase the battery life.)

I mean, it's just a USB Type-C connection... Many modern smartphones use it these days so it shouldn't be *that* hard to find a charger compatible with the Nintendo Switch for most people. It kinda amazes me (but not at the same time) that people don't realise that they could use something that practically every family in the modern world has in some form to charge their Nintendo Switch - the fact that it was compatible with USB Type-C (and not a specialised charger like most Nintendo handhelds) was a particular high point of its reveal for many, and now it seems that a lot of people either don't know or forgot about it!

In that way, I kinda always considered the Nintendo Switch to be its own special kind of tablet-like device, especially with the fact that it uses a capacitive touch screen as opposed to the Nintendo DS which used a resistive touch screen - between it and the USB Type-C compatibility, it's closer to today's smartphones and smart tablets than most people realise, which may be a result of Nintendo's younger staff designing it.

I'm probably of the unpopular opinion that the Nintendo Switch shouldn't be used as a handheld in the same way the Nintendo DS family of systems are - I prefer to think of it as a device you take over to a meetup and play with others, rather than one you play when you get bored at work our out-and-about. It's portable and all, but should I ever own one, I think I'll be saving its handheld usage for times when I really want to play whatever I'm playing when I'm out and about, otherwise just using it for when I just want to relax in bed while gaming.

Apparently Nintendo stopped including chargers with consoles because it saves money...?
Since when? My brother got a Switch for Christmas (technically bought about a month before that, but still) and it included a charger. Also I find it funny how people will complain about this for the Switch, yet leave out the fact that the New 3DS also doesn't come with a charger. Come on.

Somewhat unpopular opinion: I don't actually mind that the Switch is getting a lot of Wii U ports, in fact I like it, and this is coming from someone who's already played most of them on Wii U. Portability is a great factor for me. That and the Wii U technically isn't mine.

I don't own a new 3ds so my complaint is valid.

I am of the opinion that although SSB for Wii U/3DS was technically great, the games feel very stagnant and I lost interest super quick. With that said, I personally would like to see them do something different for the next title to make the concept of Nintendo characters (and some 3rd party characters) fighting with each other fun again.

At the very least I absolutely do not want a port of SSB4 to the Switch. I want a new title instead. Enough of the franchises that drive me to consoles have only seen ports of Wii U versions on the Switch and it's making it very hard for me to find any games to play on the system.

I don't plan to buy a Switch any time soon. Honestly, the only games that really make me wanna buy it are Bayonetta 3, Kirby Star Allies, and the Pokemon Switch game. which sad to say isn't enough to justify the purchase for me. Everything else is either also available on my PS4, or a game like Metroid Prime 4, which I'm kinda interested in playing, but not a driving force to buy the system in any way.

Come to the switch side. We have slightly higher graphics.

Same, except for Bayonetta.

I'm honestly not to excited for the Pokemon switch game. We just don't know enough for me to be excited.

I was going to say the same thing, but stopped because this isn't the Pokemon section. However, Generation VII's games have been so disappointing to me that Game Freak will have to prove to me that the Switch Pokemon game will be better before I can get excited.
