SwSh What little things, details, and other small additions in Sword/Shield that you like

Something came to mind recently. As you know, more recent Pokemon games tend to railroad you to go in certain directions. This includes your first visit to Motostoke, where the Macros Cosmos staff escort you at certain times. While this is part of the railroading, there is actually an in-universe reason for it: Leon's legendary bad sense of direction. Considering that Leon could probably get lost going to the bathroom in his own home, the league staff wants to make sure that other participants don't have this problem, hence why they escort you around a bit during the early stages. Again, yeah, it's part of the railroading trend the games have developed, but at least in Galar there is one reason for it, at least at certain points, anyway. At least it gives some justification to the early game railroading, considering that Leon, the current Champion, probably couldn't find his way out of a paper bag without a map (and maybe even then require help) due to his horrible sense of direction. The league staff wants to ensure that the other participants don't suffer from Leon's "condition" and act as escorts just in case. It's still annoying, yes, but at least there seems to be some justification to it.

While I don't really like that non-Galarian Fossil Pokemon can be found in the wild in Galar, I do understand why they don't let Cara Liss revive them from fossils, since she is clearly not good at it.

There is one feature in SwSh that really makes my heart soar: The ability to give nicknames to traded Pokemon you receive if they don't already have one! I wound up discovering this on a whim, and it was pure galaxy brain for me! I love being able to receive traded Pokemon and give them nicknames of my own! It saves me a lot of time breeding them for the right gender or nature, and it makes things a lot less tedious! And I'm seriously pissed that both BDSP and Legends Arceus didn't bring this feature back. I really hope they do in future games, because I have a bunch of traded shinies in Pokemon Bank that I'd love to give nicknames to!

League cards. A lot. And that when a Pokémon with wings is hovering and just waiting for your order, there are flapping sounds, and the other in-battle sound effects. It’s so small, yet I got nearly euphoric when I noticed it.
I second you on the cards. They're a fun bit of world-building that gives some extra backstory and flavor to the characters you meet.

Been swapping League Cards regularly now and seeing real people’s and in-game character’s cards interspersed back and forth is another fun piece of immersion.

Speaking of immersion, I like how the Wild Area uses in-game elements to simulate further weather events. Like how Rain + Electric Terrain = Thunderstorm. Or even something as simple as Misty Terrain = Fog.

I absolutely love the buildings in Galar. In fact, Scarlet and Violet's buildings pale in comparison. They look more like something from Alola (which I also love, of course but they don't look as good.) And Inteleon won my heart big time. I actually preferred and still prefer Grookey for an initial stage but now I have to deal with the fact that I never, ever loved any starter more than I love Inteleon, which is ironically also widely hated. But it's the only pokemon that makes me feel proud when I am using him.

I like that I can randomly spin around at every event in the game and I can just crack a pose then fight eternatus. To be honest I like the alcremie evo but i don’t think it may make it into gen 9.

I also really like the person at the wild area by the train station that heals your Pokémon for me so I don’t need to fly.
