Make the best episode ever

In search of a legend

A region-spanning group of actors and performers all want to put on a very unique type of show and try to find the perfect story to tell. Then, after one of the more recently joined up members of the group starts to think, he remembers how no matter which of the past regions that he had visited before, one name kept coming up over and over; Ash Ketchum. And so, the rest of the episode is about how this one group of performers and their Pokémon all travel across their home regions in order to gain more information about this one specific trainer. This actually results in the whole lot of them hearing about quite a few of Ash’s past exploits and accomplishments.

Ash becomes a Pokémon Master and then he gets married to Serena. We see all of Ash's companions, rivals, and Pokémon at the wedding.

The last scene of the entire show is Ash holding his newborn child, saying that he'll always be there for them.
Is Ash's child going to be the new protagonist, or is the show permanently over

What will that be like?
From Wikipedia:
"
Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead is an absurdist, existential tragicomedy by Tom Stoppard... The play expands upon the exploits of two minor characters from Shakespeare's Hamlet, the courtiers Rosencrantz and Guildenstern...

"The action of Stoppard's play takes place mainly "in the wings" of Shakespeare's, with brief appearances of major characters from Hamlet who enact fragments of the original's scenes. Between these episodes the two protagonists voice their confusion at the progress of events occurring onstage without them in Hamlet, of which they have no direct knowledge."

(There was also a Star Wars parody of it called "Tag and Bink Are Dead")

The basic premise would be that you have these two minor characters who interact with the events of the Pokémon anime and, maybe, even cause them (Ex. maybe they the last Pokémon starter for humorous reasons, which makes Ash choose Pikachu)

Two episodes before final episode of Journeys: After having won the PWC tournament, Ash tries to figure out what's his next step. Goh, meanwhile, after some consideration, thinks over his goal of catching Mew. It seems everyone is thinking about goals, as Chloe and her newly evolved Leafeon(representing her character growth-if not and its Gigantamax, then still Eevee) decide to announce what she's planning on becoming: a teacher. After having had many experiences, whether she was being taught, or helping others, she realized that her difficulties in trying to find a goal was something she wished to help others with from personal experience: becoming a teacher was the best way to do that. Gary heads back to Sinnoh to continue his tutelage under Professor Rowan, and Iris approaches Ash with a suggestion, one that he just can't refuse...

An episode before the final episode of Journeys: Goh officially becomes a researcher at the Cerise Laboratories, wishing to learn more about pokemon to see if his goal of catching Mew really is something he wished to dedicate himself to. Chloe signs up for classes at a school in the Kanto region to study in order to become a teacher. Iris's suggestion to Ash was for him to go back to Kanto and challenge the Elite Four, as well as the Champion-as she herself was planning on aiming for champion, now that her dreams of becoming a dragon master were closer than ever. Ash seems uncertain, until he remembers about [insert Gen 9 region here], a region he learned about in the previous few episodes. He realizes that now he's the "strongest trainer in the world" but still hasn't fully explored and met every kind of pokemon-an implication that came with his dream-so he decides to head there; especially when he hears another interesting prospect from Leon: as the Champion of the PWC, he can either accept of decline the responsibilities that come with it-Ash temporarily declines to head to the Gen 9 region, though Leon promises the position will be waiting for him in the case that he decides to come back. Team Rocket meanwhile gets a mysterious assignment from their boss to report to headquarters immediately-a setup for the Gen 9 region; no I'm not implying the BW!Team Rocket should return cause they suck-and they accidentally blow up the Gatcha in their excitement.

The final episode of Journeys: Everyone prepares to set off on their respective journeys, Iris already having left for Unova, and Goh ready to head to the Kalos region as well on a new "assignment" for Professor Cerise with Khrysa accompanying him. All the pokemon say their goodbyes and some seem more reluctant to say goodbye than others, so Professor Cerise decides to throw a big party in honor of the three deciding on their new life paths. Team Rocket actually ends up accidentally attending the party, though they were in their disguises-Ash and Pikachu both notice though they didn't seem to be doing anything bad, so they paid no mind. After the party(think of it as a graduation party) Chloe heads to the train station as she has to leave first. Goh and Khrysa will leave the next day, and Ash's flight is right after Chloe's. They all say their goodbyes, and after Chloe leaves, Ash has to as well. There is a final goodbye between Ash and Goh, as Ash heads back to Pallet Town. The final scene is Ash going towards all his pokemon and introducing them to one another, before announcing his win and his new drive to head to the Gen 9 region-this time, he promises to rotate all of his pokemon for the upcoming region.

Not the best, but that's what I've got.

Yes to Chloe having a Leafeon

Ash's Journeys Team gets to have a whole day of interacting and getting to know each other. We get to see the best of each of their personalities and how they bounce off of each other.

Other Pokemon, such as Goh's Galar Starters and Chloe's Yamper and Eevee get to join in. Eevee in particular gets to learn a new move that's not Copycat.

Any episode that focuses mostly on the Pokémon is a great one in my book. I'm surprised they don't make more of them, tbh.

The bedroom door gets stuck and Goh can't get out. Ash then goes on an arc adventure (no episodic format here babey!) in Galar where he trains and interacts with his Pokémon, has a rematch with Bea, and challenges some of the gym leaders and we don't see Goh for at least 10 episodes. He's not mentioned, but don't worry: he's fine.

In all seriousness now, I just want an episode where Ash interacts and properly trains his Pokemon as an team, and we see them interacting with each other. No Goh, he's just going around trying to capture an random Pokemon, and we don't see him for the entire episode. It's focused squarely on Ash and his team.

How about a mini-arc where, say, the crew heads to Pallet Town because Professor Oak asks for help to care for the pokemon-due to a sudden onslaught of injured pokemon appearing at the lab. That way we get a small arc focused on Ash and his pokemon, can give Goh a chance to showcase his character and how it relate to his goal instead of just...his goal period, Chloe focus-she can help the other pokemon, Tracey gets an appearance, we get a mystery that can actually/potentially set up future arcs-for instance, why is injured pokemon appearing in Pallet Town?

My episode would be more of a two or three-parter than just one episode but here goes:

It starts with Ash and Leon facing off in the Championship match of the Pokémon World Coronation Series. Ash is equipped with his Z-Ring and has Pikashunium Z. In the stands are Goh, Chloe, Professor Cerise, Professor Oak, and Delia as well as several of Ash's previous traveling companions, friends, family, and classmates. Among them are Misty, Brock, Dawn, and all of his Alola classmates, including Lillie, along with Gladion and Professor Kukui and Professor Burnett, along with Lei.

Once the battle starts, Ash would send out Pikachu while Leon sends out Charizard. Charizard would Gigantamax while Pikachu would not, Ash's strategy being to use Pikachu's evasive abilities to outlast Charizard's Gigantamax while chipping away with Thunderbolt and eventually using his Z-Move, 10 Million Volt Thunderbolt to do some real damage to Charizard. Of course, being Gigantamaxed, Charizard is still standing but did not escape it unscathed while he had difficulty hitting a small, fast target in his huge form, only scoring very glancing hits on Pikachu with G-Max Wildfire. Still, despite the damage, Charizard still has the edge and Pikachu is still on the defensive. Eventually, the Gigantamax wears off and Charizard reverts to normal, which allows Pikachu to go on the offensive, but Charizard is no pushover and both Pokémon eventually KO each other.

After the Pikachu and Charizard fight, Ash and Leon face each other using the rest of their teams. Ash having Charizard, Sceptile, Snorlax (Gigantamax), Lucario, and Gengar; with Leon having Dragapult, Aegislash, Haxorus, Mr. Rime, and Inteleon.

The rest of the battle sees both combatants using a variety of strategies with Ash using type advantages to try to deal with Leon, who seems to have the individually stronger Pokémon on average, though only by a little, with Ash being able to use his own Pokémon's abilities and his out of the box strategy to close the gap. Leon is not without his own strategies, though, as he switches his Pokémon around to stall out Ash's Gigantamaxed Snorlax and eventually take it down without it taking down any of Leon's Pokémon before falling. Still, clever tactics, improvised moves such as Counter Shield, and the natural strengths and abilities of the rest of his team allow him to close the gap and still fight evenly with Leon with the final battle being between Leon's fresh Inteleon and Ash's Charizard. Despite the type disadvantage, Charizard is eventually able to get the upper hand on Inteleon by using his mobility and forcing a long-range battle, using a similar strategy to the one Charizard used against Gary's Blastoise to win Ash that match. In the end, Charizard manages to pull through and give Ash the win and allow him to become the Champion of the World Coronation Series, with Charizard redeeming himself from the battle that lost Ash the Indigo League.

After Ash and his friends celebrate, I would have three "post-credit" scenes, one where a man dressed in what looks like an Expansion Suit, without the E on its face visor looks at Ash and smiles, quietly congratulating Ash, but also thinking that Ash will now be entering a new world with new responsibilities, as well as being a target for evil organizations such as Team Rocket, just as he was. The final scene would be a scene of Giovanni watching the battle from inside a Rocket Hideout, grimacing at Ash's victory and taking some notes, indicating that he has a new enemy and has gained a new interest in Ash Ketchum and the Pikachu that Jessie, James, and Meowth are constantly after.

The anime decides to show off some items other than Potions, Pokeballs and evolution stones; The nature mints that were added in Sword and Shield. With Ash haven't placed pretty high in multiple leagues, having won both the Orange League and the Alolan League, beaten the Battle Frontier AND is pretty high ranking in the PWC, of course he has fans all over. Specifically from the highly competitive region of Galar.

One such fan anonymously sends a box of mints to Prof. Oak's lab with the promise of them enhancing the performance of the Pokemon who eats them. THe professor, unaware of what these mints really do, calls up Ash and asks if he could feed them to his Pokemon, he gives the go ahead and goes about his day..all for about an hour or two. A frantic and apologetic Oak soon calls back, asking Ash to come to the corral after telling him of his Pokemon drastic changes in personality.

Upon arriving the first Pokemon to greet him is Buizel and he, acting uncharacteristically timid, hides behind Ash to escape the torment of the now impish Snivy. Ash is all kinds of weirded out and so is Goh after Ash explains to him how they usually are. Professor Oak discovers what these mints really are and tasks Ash and Goh with returning all the Pokemon to normal using the correct mints.

So we get an entire episode dedicated to Ash's reserves, though with so many its doubtful they'll get to show off their personality. But his current teams get to meet and bond with some of the old, we get to see friendships between some of the reserves we might not have been able to see, and with Goh inquiring as to where he met some of his Pokemon we get brief callbacks to previous regions.
