If the Role play were set in a future time period then Nocturne would definately be able to keep a Greninja but this is set before the system of partnering up with pokemon was created and long before the existence of poke balls as we know them. It would almost be like a cave man trying to make friends with a dinosaur.

Having said that, the plot is pretty free flowing so I suppose you could have Nocturne attempt to befriend the Greninja but it would be a tough battle without any real way to capture the critter and make it friendly.
