For the E4 you pick 6 out of your team pool to battle all of them. If you lose along the way then your progress is reset but you are allowed to change your team from your team pool before battling them again. You win against them by defeating all 4 members without a loss, best of luck.

I'll guess I'll finish breeding the Pawniard without Stealth Rock then.
