For me? Well most of the male companions except Brock (in the first season and seasons 3-5) are rather bland and don't really do anything other than comic relief purposes, and Max and Bonnie are rather pointless especially since you know they're never going to grow up to become trainers since aging seems to be illegal in this universe.
