I would say so yes. Now it is a hard book to adapt into a movie, I will admit that, because it's a collection of separate short stories with one through line, but I hope that they give this another shot sometime and be more faithful.
Yeah. There are only three characters from the book in the film and they are Bridget Moynahan's, Bruce Greenwood's and James Cromwell's characters. But even they are very different from the book. And it truly does not do Isaac Asimov's (the writer of the book) ideas justice. Yeah Shia has a cameo
Really enjoying reading I, Robot but.... wow the film by Alex Proyas is NOTHING like the book! They just took a few characters and concepts and pulled the whole plot out of their asses. There are great ideas for a film in the book, this is one film that should get a remake IMO.
