Her constantly calling Ash a kid rubbed me the wrong way--that, and both Misty and Brock are possible PWT opponents, so their being in Unova could've made sense.

Yeah. She always called Ash out even for stuff that Ash would not know. Like, She called him out for not knowing what a Deeling is if I recall.

My version of BW Ash still retains what he has learned in between regions. Misty and Brock trust his abilities, at least.

Yes--he will have a blend of what I actually used and some of what the show used
