• Hello all! The forum staff have introduced a new rule set. We've reduced the number of rules, made trick language easier to understand, and have hopefully simplified the rules to make understanding them easier. Please have a read over the new forum rules here.
  • Hey guys! Have you heard? We now have popup
    Yes, Popups!
messages for your forum posts. Learn more about it here!
  • Hey everyone, if you hadn't heard, information about Sword and Shield has been leaking. Outside of the designated threads in our Current Events section, please keep all unrevealed Pokemon, names, or any other information in spoiler tags. This policy will be in effect until January 3rd. This is an exciting time for Pokémon fans, enjoy yourselves!
  • Recently, some of our fellow Pokémon fan sites have received legal requests to take down leaked Sword and Shield images. We have not received one of these requests yet, but we are taking some preemptive measures to stay on the safe side. We ask that from now until the games release (November 15th) that you do not post any new leaked images anywhere on the forums.

Moves that Pokemon should/should not be able to learn

It most probably floats since fat floats, and it’s big enough for the player to sit on. Maybe the player uses paddles to move Snorlax? Tauros surfing is more weird to me...

Moves that Pokemon should/should not be able to learn

The source of the sound evidently matters for the move. Have you ever heard a bug’s wings making ringing and clanging sounds?

Neither of them make noise with their scales though.

I like to imagine that it blows a huge gust of wind in a single breath.

Moves that Pokemon should/should not be able to learn

There should be an Event only Bewear that learns extreme speed as a nod to the anime and for the lols.

Beauty’s in the eyes of the beholder, I guess!

Moves that Pokemon should/should not be able to learn

Pheromosa not learning attract is a bit strange when stuff like Cyrogonal can.

Moves that Pokemon should/should not be able to learn

Cyrogonal and Minior can learn attract... maybe it’s due to conventional beauty of patterns? And for some reason Dhelmise can too... I struggle to find anything beautiful in Dhelmise. And why can’t Oranguru learn attract?

Moves that Pokemon should/should not be able to learn

Having Wobuffet learn Taunt would do it a lot of favours.

Moves that Pokemon should/should not be able to learn

A substitute cannot block sound moves, the entire reason I wanted Yawn to be sound so it can pass through.

Moves that Pokemon should/should not be able to learn

Yawn just feels the kind of move that shouldn’t be blocked by a substitute. The sound and the gesture independently both can cause drowsiness in my experience.

Moves that Pokemon should/should not be able to learn

Not exactly related specifically to some species but Yawn should be a sound move.

Moves that Pokemon should/should not be able to learn

Gallade has a similar experience and ‘blade’ right in its name. The single fin on Gallade's head resembles the helmet worn by murmillo-class Roman gladiators, or the Corinthian helmet with a horsehair crest worn by Greek hoplites. It may also be based on medieval knights. Additionally, its...

Moves that Pokemon should/should not be able to learn

It can be learnt by Kartana which uses arm blades. Virizion and Cobalion too are less blade-y than Gallade.

    Volcanion?

Moves that Pokemon should/should not be able to learn

Add Moltres to the list of Pokémon who can learn Rain dance but should not.

Moves that Pokemon should/should not be able to learn

That was just an example. As toxic can be learnt by almost every Pokemon there are many, many different poisons in the Poké-world and no Pokemon is resistant to all of them.

Moves that Pokemon should/should not be able to learn

It wouldn’t make sense. For instance there’s no reason why a grass type should take only half damage from a steel type’s mercury poisoning.
  19. PkmnTrainerV

Moves that Pokemon should/should not be able to learn

There are way too many different poisons to take a general case secnario. A being may be resistant to one poison but really weak to another.

Moves that Pokemon should/should not be able to learn

Adding on: Specially since different Pokemon may use different types of poison which can be ‘bad’ for different types: A Poison type’s Poison may be not very effective to a bug type but if you retcon Bugs to be unable to be badly poisoned then it wouldn’t make sense since steel type’s mercury...
