Review JN013: Satoshi VS Dande! The Road to the Strongest!!

Ash hadn't lost a battle since his match with Gladion on Poni Island before this. That's 54 episodes he went without losing a battle. Over a year in real life time.

Review JN013: Satoshi VS Dande! The Road to the Strongest!!

Did anyone notice that even though Leon seemed the recall his Charizard after the battle, it's still seen standing behind him when he goes to give Ash and Oran Berry? Did he just shrink it back down, or is this an error?

Review JN013: Satoshi VS Dande! The Road to the Strongest!!

You're missing important stuff by doing so. Nothing is absolute, you know. If you don't watch them, you won't get to see their good parts either. Because those definitely exist too. He was probably just channeling Normal-type move energy in a wrong way that didn't result in him using Max...

That's because that was OS. Dynamax battles are more about power than speed or movement anyway.

With that size, moving around isn't exactly all that easy.

He also knew the name of Pikachu's G-Max Move. It's not an unknown form.

Review JN013: Satoshi VS Dande! The Road to the Strongest!!

A small bit of trivia I just noticed: with the three new (G-)Max Moves Pikachu used in this episode, Pikachu has now used a total of 19 moves throughout the anime. That's more than the previous record holder, Ash's Charizard, who had used "only" 17 moves, although it also had two moves that were...

It would be great if they brought back some characters they "skipped" too, most notably Elite Four members.

Rocket Dex: "Chewtle evolves into Drednaw. What a shocker, innit?" Team Rocket sure got a sassy Rotom for their phone, didn't they?

    Because it isn't relevant here.

Review JN013: Satoshi VS Dande! The Road to the Strongest!!

The same reason as Drednaw did. It's a Power Spot, and the ground cracked, letting Dynamax energy leak to the surface.

It seemed to me he's doing bigger things than that. I thought they were used sparingly and wisely in this episode, with them even getting a new Pokémon.

Review JN013: Satoshi VS Dande! The Road to the Strongest!!

It was kinda funny to see how Pikachu tried to jump when using G-Max Volt Crash, like he usually does when using Thunderbolt, only for him to immediately fall back down due to his much heavier-than-usual body.

My guess is he had probably left by the time Drednaw started attacking.
