Moves that Pokemon should/should not be able to learn

If we’re strictly going for design and concept, Doublade should learn Guillotine. Though considering No Guard, I get why it doesn’t. Just realised we got a France based region and not a single pokemon introduced there knows Guillotine
  2. Lightning Flame Blast

Moves that Pokemon should/should not be able to learn

I’m pretty fine with big and heavy pokemon managing to make the ground crack, but why the hell let featherweight critters do that. Glalie and Sharpedo don’t even have the body structures to touch the ground (unless you count that floor headbutt from the Hoenn League...)
  3. Lightning Flame Blast

Moves that Pokemon should/should not be able to learn

Speaking of Earthquake, wayyy too much stuff can learn that. Like, I get why Venusaur or Slaking would be able to, given their size and weight, but... Yungoos? Sharpedo? Arbok?
  4. Lightning Flame Blast

Moves that Pokemon should/should not be able to learn

Chandelure should be able to learn Flash and Dazzling Gleam. It’s based on the brightest piece of furniture you can get, for crying out loud.
  5. Lightning Flame Blast

Moves that Pokemon should/should not be able to learn

Thematically speaking, it would make sense for Volcarona to learn Sacred Fire.
  6. Lightning Flame Blast

Moves that Pokemon should/should not be able to learn

How come Marshtomp and Swampert can only know Hydro Pump if learned as a Mudkip? No other starter has that.
  7. Lightning Flame Blast

Moves that Pokemon should/should not be able to learn

Speaking of Gyarados, why the hell can this thing learn Thunder? Seems like the move it would be the least suited to learn.
  8. Lightning Flame Blast

Moves that Pokemon should/should not be able to learn

Silvally and Carvanha can learn Poison Fang by leveling up, while the venomous snake Ekans needs to be bred to have it.
  9. Lightning Flame Blast

Moves that Pokemon should/should not be able to learn

Let’s not get started on Slowpoke...
  10. Lightning Flame Blast

Moves that Pokemon should/should not be able to learn

Remember when people found it odd how Rhyperior could learn Surf? Well, it can learn Hydro Pump now.
  11. Lightning Flame Blast

Moves that Pokemon should/should not be able to learn

Perharps, but this is a pokemon with two of the three starter types that are known to heavily oppose each other, which makes it odd for it to learn fire attacks. You could argue that Volcanion is the same because it’s a fire/water type that learns Solar Beam, but at least fire has an...
  12. Lightning Flame Blast

Moves that Pokemon should/should not be able to learn

Ludicolo, whose grass and water types are the most stellar opposition to the fire type, somehow can learn Fire Punch.
  13. Lightning Flame Blast

Moves that Pokemon should/should not be able to learn

Snorlax is known for eating anything, while Pelipper and Minccino are based off of animals that store food for later, so I guess they could be carrying seeds? No idea for Purrloin.
  14. Lightning Flame Blast

Moves that Pokemon should/should not be able to learn

You can measure potency as horse power, so maybe it’s just a fancy way of calling it “Ground type Superpower”
  15. Lightning Flame Blast

Moves that Pokemon should/should not be able to learn

Humans also host martial arts tournaments, and yet we won’t give every humanoid a bunch of fighting moves.
  16. Lightning Flame Blast

Moves that Pokemon should/should not be able to learn

The Pawniard line should be able to learn Air Slash, since other cut related pokemon like Kartana can. And once signature moves from gen VIII inevitably become commonplace, Bisharp should get No Retreat.
  17. Lightning Flame Blast

Moves that Pokemon should/should not be able to learn

Acid? Why? Granted, Smog makes sense, many fire types have it.
  18. Lightning Flame Blast

Moves that Pokemon should/should not be able to learn

Can you picture a Delphox raising its wand and shooting sludge with it. Likewise, can you picture it puking out venomous sludge? Witches use it as potions of sorts, which Delphox (presumably) won’t have access to.
  19. Lightning Flame Blast

Moves that Pokemon should/should not be able to learn

There’s nothing about Delphox that gives off any sort of poisonous vibe... Energy Ball or Thunderbolt would make a bit more sense if we’re talking about coverage.
  20. Lightning Flame Blast

Moves that Pokemon should/should not be able to learn

Why can’t Gengar learn Shadow Sneak and Phantom Force when it’s outright stated to shift through shadows
