But it goes against the classic pokemon art direction, pokemon is suppose to look more cartoony and cell shaded just look at the official artoworks and every single sprite before these games

I watched the full conference too and I too heard that the 2019 game and LGPE have been in production simultaneously

For gen 8 I personally would prefer the shading to be more like USUM rather than LGLE because it's closer to a cell shaded look
