Well the most episode I can think of was when TR kidnapped Professor Sycamore to get some data on mega evolution. When Ash and Clemont catch up to them and TR goes into their motto, Ash and Clemont completely ignore them and just go straight to freeing their friends.

I really doubt they'll get rid of any of these modes just by virtue of how many resources they would've had to commit to make them. Just look at Amie: different poses and animations for HUNDREDS of Pokemon definitely took out a chunk of X and Y's budget, it'd be stupid if they got rid of it for...
