Pretty sure that was a joke but you do know that Gen V had 150 + pkmn right? A lot of the time the hate boils down to these 3-4 pokemon lines as if they represent the entire Gen V dex. :/

Really? But the Avatar series had huge focus on the story. Sure it had tons of lore and world building but unlike Zelda the story was also equally upfront. The Souls series in which story takes a backstage and is told through written texts and lore might be a better example.

No not really. Take the Sinnoh starters for example. Empoleon's steel typing made grass and fire do neutral damage to it. Whereas it also made it weak to the secondary typings of both Infernape and Torterra. Imbalance in the typings of final starter forms isn't something new.

Twin of Miracles and Calamity is such a different naming choice that I almost ready to believe it.

They might give the trainers some way to influence battles in game. Like a sort of rank for the trainer based on in game accomplishments. Higher ranks unlock various in battle effects. Or maybe something like Ash-Greninja limited to the starter might not be bad.
