    Yeah that's not it. Those are the stupidest titles ever (but if they are the true titles I'm going on record saying I'll probably go for queen. Unless King's pokemon looks more badass.)

    When I saw oddysey I thought the exact opposite of that. I thought "this is a normal mario game with a fun gimmick."

    Well, we don't want the new pokemon games to be linear (or, at least, not as linear as recently) so that could be the thing that makes gen 8 special. We finally get less linear.

    Mario Odyssey was the BotW of Mario but it was still pretty much a normal 3D Mario game.

    There is a shortage on games where your choices actually matter. At least, non-indie games. Unrelated: I'm willing to bet that part of the direct is just gonna be some pokken dlc or something.
