Powerhouse? It lost its first battle after evolving and wasn't even a match for Kukui's Incineroar.

My point is that Meltan being a mythical didn't really factor into how it was handled in the anime. It could have been an average Pokemon and those issues might have still existed

How was Meltan treated any differently than any other Pokemon under Ash despite being a mythical? Any other final capture could have had the same problems(lack of battles and not many bonding moments with Ash). And still don't see how evolving before a match is a strike against it

And what's wrong with evolving in the middle of the league? We've had plenty of league evolutions in the past before

I'm more or less content with how Meltan/Melmetal was handled. Most of the problems it had could have been the same for any late capture under Ash, mythical or not.
