I just watched a theory video on what the new series could be about, and I think I agree with everything that's said in it.

Not sure of anyone's pointed out this possibility here yet: if Ash ends up winning the Alola League, it would be great inter-series continuity if that was the reason why he would receive a recommendation to join the Galarian Gym Challenge.

Since Team Yell's entire premise is based around Melanie, she must play a notable role in the series. I suspect she'll be a rival for Ash.
