Rowlet also battles Venusaur too, and since Venusaur also battles Torracat, either Kukui either switches Braviary to Venusaur and it beats Rowlet, or Rowlet beats Braviary and loses to Venusaur. Those are the most likely scenarios I see, anyway.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Kukui recalled Incineroar and sent it out later for a final showdown. Unless it's the mysterious sixth Pokémon that'll be the last one standing.

It's just that we haven't seen much substitutions in this League, due to the small amount of Pokémon taking part in each battle. Plus, he likes making callbacks to past events. Let's see if we'll spot any in this episode.
