I also had a problem with Ash not having the overcome the obstacle that is Ice body with Hail. But it is what it is. At least it meant that in return we got to see both Avalugg and Abomasnow kick some ass in their respective episodes as Wulfric's ace. The gym battle wasn't the best one I've seen...
