Yes but Physical/Special isn't a thing in the anime, attacks aren't divided like that here. They tend not to make any Pokemon a purely close-range or purely long-range fighter because that's boring. Movesets in the anime are about versatility and whatever looks cool
It doesn't exactly need another long-range attack when it already has Aura Sphere and Steel Beam. It could however benefit from another close-range attack besides Reversal.
Lucario getting his own version of "Battle Bond" pretty much cements Greninja staying in Kalos. Greninja is being used as an obstacle for Lucario to overcome and surpass.
Aside from both being able to "Mega Evolve", they also share a similar spiritual connection to Ash. With Greninja, it's the Bond Phenomenon. With Lucario, it's Aura.
Swapping them out would be a massive waste, they need to be the ones used in the PWC finals. If Ash was just going to use his old Pokemon for the battles that matter, there'd be no point in giving him new ones in the first place.
Dracovish was also revived from a Fossil and fossil Pokemon have been shown to retain the memories of their past lives (in Dracovish's case, the memories of the Vish half at least), so it was likely just strong to begin with
Sounds like exactly what I expected. Rather than rejoining Ash's team, Greninja will help to train Lucario, as its Bond Phenomenon is very similar to Ash and Lucario's aura bond.
