Blue kept the Earth Badge even though he doesn't specialize in Ground types, or any types for that matter. Miltank could also be replaced with something like Togetic if they decide to make Whitney a Fairy specialist.

I don't know what will happen with Whitney and her gym, considering that most of the Pokemon used in it have been changed to Fairy-types in Gen 6, with some of them outright having their Normal type replaced with Fairy. There's a chance that she might have her specialty type changed from Normal...

I think that we are definitely going to see held items and breeding in this game because they can't use "They weren't in the originals." as an excuse for removing them because they were.
