Hopefully, so far it's looking more and more like Rowlet will remain a Rowlet. If it weren't for the fact Dartrix hasn't appeared yet, I'd entirely cross an evolution off the list for him. Maybe they didn't want him to get Ghostnium because it'd just gather dust once Rowlet becomes a Decidueye...

Exactly! Though seeing how they skipped over Ghostnium, I guess they aren't going to go that route with him. We've still yet to see Ghostnium though so who knows, though it would be ridiculous that he didn't receive a reward for the ghost trial and got the Ghostnium Z in some other way later on...
